Default ideas please, ongoing problem

the car went through a phase of idling erratically and eventually chugged itself out when left sat running, then when driving in heavy stop start traffic, after a period of time the engine would stall when braking and coming to a stop, the idle and timing was altered and it seemed all rosy until today, and again through heavy stop start traffic after a period of time if i didnt fight to keep the revs up the car would cut out and stall and so was a real struggle to get it home, any experience or advice would be useful thanks!

As is the answer to most question with similar problems your best bet would be to check your idle control valve, may need a clean or replacing, what car/engine have you got?

standard bar a pace intercooler, hybrid turbo and a remap. hmm, altered the idle which seemed to solve the problem but maybe def worth another look at it, seems to mainly be a problem after long periods of stop start slow driving

As above get it set up, mine did the same as what you described. What engine are you running in your car. Mine is MFi.
