Temp gauge

My temp gauge stopped working the other day on my 90 spec s2.can anyone give me an idea as to what can be wrong?save me having half the car apart!!!

I have very good experience in this (check out my latest thread). The temp sender sits on the front of the head, just to the right of the exhaust manifold, and has a single wire going to it. The wire may have popped off, or the sender has gave up the ghost.
4.99 ob eghay for a replacement.
