Default escos running!!!!

ok this is doing my head in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1992 big turbo escos, it wont rev past 4000 rpm and it sometimes does it (like the spark is being cut off) under light accelleration about 1100 to 1500 rpm ?????? and its fairly intermittant??? help all sensors fairly new, multi plugs have been hard wired (solderd) ???

try a new set of spark plugs a lad on escortrscosworth.com had a similliar problem to you and it seemed to have cured it

new 071c plugs fitted two days ago!!!! and gapped correctly!!!!

yeh new map sensor, etc sensor, air temp sensor, phase sensor, ignition amplifier, lambda sensor, and a new crank sensor about 6 months ago!!!!

It could be your ecu, it was another guy on escortcosworth forum, whit similar problem, and thats was e ecu problem. He change it, and everything was working perfect

Have the fault codes read. 4000 rpm is a hard limit when a fault is detected.

tried that mate, and ive put my mates ecu on my car and made no difference!! im just left with the engine loom now which has got some corroded wires to throttle switch and tdc sensor so i geuse thats the problem!!! so ive just ordered a complete engine loom from ryan at carlooms uk!! should have it in a week or so !!! will let you know if it sorts it

hi mate, i notice with my small turbo cossie if i unplug the air temp sensor it wont rev past something like 2k. dono if the large turbo's have air temp sensor but if it has worth a look?

it is a newair temp sensor but ive still got the old oneso iwill try it bk on there!!! thanks.

Doublecheck if you connected the Cranck-sensor, Phase-sensor and the Knock-sensor right. I had by mistake connected 2 of those on my S Cossi, and did not rev over 4000rpm..

Just a tip!

when my airtemp sensor was dirty(covered with oil) it also went into limp mode. Gave it a clean and it ran fine.

Found this was the problem on the car i was looking at, however it now wont start at all. something else is f@#ked now.

I would check the gap between the phase and crank sensor.
