I have a problem with my cossy! At 3,500 revs the car starts to lose all power and will not rev past this. Help needed PLEASE!! Also, is the fuel pump supposed to be permanently running? It can be heard when the car is running at all times!

if the fuel pump didnt run the car would not run lol! if it sounds really loud it could be on its way out

You need to state whether this is the big or small turbo Escort. On the ST, if the fuel pump is running continuously when the ignition is on but the engine is off (KOEO) then this is a sign that the ecu is in limp home (LOS) mode. A common cause of this is on chipped cars when the chip is faulty or not seated correctly on the J3 connector.

As said, if the fuelpump is noisy it can be fooked and wont deliver much fuel. Had that kind of problem that you have a few years back, and it turned out to be a faulty fuelpump.
