escos NSF wheel bearing
o oh
think my NSF wheel bearing is fuggered,
did i read that the hubs are now not available from ford anymorea few months back...? bearings shoudn't be a probelem, but if its gooses the housing - then what? are the escos ones the same front hubs as 4x4 saph or were they slightly revised?

cheers guys,
so bearings aren't a problem, as best bet is a second hand hub off either an escos or saph 4b ; if its fooked - its gone quite loud today - gonna have to get it in bits on saturday before it drops off

When you say hub do you mean the bit the bearing goes into, or the bit which reatians the wheel studs? As its usually the bit the wheel studs go into that wears and is then too small for the centre of the bearing. I think its around 120 new from ford.

right after 3 hours in the cold and dark last nite - it got it stripped and back together - good news, the shaft is ok, the carrier is ok, just the hub has about a 1/2mm wear where the rear bearing sits, but the bearing was still free - so whats caused it to spin on the hub i dont know.
but as i need the car at the moment it had to go back together with the new bearings and a bodge until i can get a good hub adn another set of bearings i had to centre punch the whole of the worn area to give it a knurled effect and make some hight spots to increase the OD, when it was sufficiantly pimply and the new bearing was a snug fit, i cleaned it all, rebuilt it and then just as put the back race in, smeared the stub with locktite then tightened it all up. the headache has gone and there is no grumbling or rumbling from it this morning - so its just a matter of time until it goes again - but at least it buys me a bit of time. oh yeh the abs sensor was all ally-oxided up in the hole so that had to be punched out from the back - 1 more thing to add to the list im amazed it still works to be honest,
one thing i didnt do thuogh was count the number of teeth on the abs ring - someone on here afew months back wanted to know how many there were to calibrate their digital speedo dash using a abs sensor as the input
