does anyone suggest what kind of camshaft i can put in me rsi! its runnin hydraulic lifters at the mo' but im after solids !!! ( can anyone help me with that ?? )
the dummy i bought it of said he has a kent cam but when he fitted it, he dun sumit wrong and the lifters destroyed the lobes on the cam...
i dont know how this cud happen but thats what he said...
its in a current rebuild state at the moment iv just finished pulling the block out.
im only 18 so im at college most of the time and dont get as much time to spend on her as i would like...
p.s is there an easy way to fit the new clutch ive bought (while the engines out) without me having to buy a clutch alignment tool ???? any help would be appreciated

Not using enough cam lube on the new cam or not bedding it in correctly can lead to cam failure, also not using matching cams and lifters e.g. using a kent cam with shonky ford lifters and vice-versa can do cause failure.
Kent cams have the cvh26 cam which is the same profile as the original RS1600i cam, im currently rebuilding my engine with a Turbo Technics kit and have the cvh27 which is similar but peaks at higher rpm.
Kent cam also do solid lifters which are easier to adjust and much cheaper than the genuine ones, it'll run alot better on solids than hydraulics
As for the clutch alignment tool, i made one up using some old sockets, its a bit hard to explain really
