I recently got given a low milage solid MK3 Fez its the 1.3 HCS (which deffinately dosent stand for "High Compression Sport")



I want to have a bit of fun with it and drop a 2.0 silvertop in but leave it looking completely standard (apart from some wider steel wheels and obviously some bigger brakes.

I know this is a tried and tested conversion so ive been doing research but still have a couple of questions...

Is it worth it?! How do they go with a 2.0 lump in, i take it the fact they weigh very little helps!?

Can i retain my gearbox for shorter ratios, if so what clutch/flywheel set up do i need?

Do i need to change the fuel tank or lines?


Any help would be apperiated

 

Damn this was a long time ago, believe it or not I still have the car, its since been on many camping trips in Scotland, Wales and France and even a charity rally


BUT its still got no Zetec! I was thinking about having a bit of 'fast fun' with her now, a bit of a sleeper if you like. so my original question (from 2 years ago) still stands and any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Ive been in one with a 1.8 zetec in and was awesome fun so should a 2.0 should be awesome
