I’ve been doing a bit of Googling about dry sumps for a Zetec and have found a few threads from you on here, especially one where you said you used to build the Zetec kits for Pace.
I’m hoping you might be able to give me a bit of advice please, I’m in the middle of fitting a pace kit to an ST170 engine and have had a few issues where Pace haven’t been very helpful.
The area I’d like advice from you on is plumbing it into the engine for the pressure feed, initial thought was to use an oil cooler sandwich plate and blank one connector off and use the other for the feed from the pump. Or alternatively I could modify the front oil pump cover and weld a JIC connector to it on the part that’s the original discharge from the OEM pump, then I could keep the filter on the block too. Presume it’s ok to just remove the internals of the oem oil pump.
Hi Lacey,
seen your name pop up in relation to sandwich plates etc for dry sumping a blacktop. long story short, i have a pace dry sump on silvertop block, thinking of switchinbg engine to blacktop.....what do i need and do you sell the relevangt bits? welcome to call/text - mark 07990971015
cheers
Yes I do
There on the burtons website
And Piero and Dave ( from the car mag )
Know me well
I have done two types
1 is for a f3 chassis and the pan is only 25mm deep
So the engine can be installed very lower
This was tested on Sbd sprint car
2.0ltr reving to 9600 making 307bhp
And ran well with no issues
Then there is my std kit which has a cast pan and the same pump as the above .
I make my own parts/pumps
And my pumps are gear pumps
Dan my apologies for not replying to this last year I've not been on my profile page since then and don't get notifications for these conversations. The Mini wasn't Z cars it was front engined RWD and prop driven. I have since sold this (you might have seen the ad on here)
My 3dr is just a base model shell but it's cosworth kitted, brakes, interior etc etc. just in the process of putting a BOB 24v in so I can have some cheap fun. I've got a GrpA touring car cage ready to go in also so it's going to be stripped out. How are yours coming on?
