I am selling my sierra RS Cosworth as I do not have time to drive her and I have a baby on the way, it would be nice to sell her to an enthusiast who will look after her.
I have owned the car for 5 years. When I bought the car it was set up with level 6 ecu on a stage 3 map. Fast, but as I found out not reliable as the engine blew up, so I decided to rebuild the engine to be strong powerful and reliable and at the same time make good anything that initially needed doing.
So after putting in approx. £18k into the car this is the outcome below.
Engine: Motorsport 200 block with, steel rods, lightened and balanced crank matched to flywheel and clutch, acralight pistons to compression of 7.8-1, all new bottom end components to go with it: shells, trust washers, oil pick up, & gaskets.
The head was stripped cleaned, ported and flowed, new seats cut with new inlet and exhaust valves, guides and oil stem seals. This was all built with double valve springs, original tappets & original cams re profiled: inlet BD14 & Exhaust BD10
(This design aims to stop lay and give good forced induction speed to the turbo)
Again all new gaskets and seals for the top end, head and block bolted together with ARP stud and nut kit with wrc multilayer head gasket.
Turbo: T38BB from Universal turbos with Inconel shaft and uprated actuator, build specifically for the engine build, this is fed by the 2 wd exhaust manifold which gives more torque, then to a 3 straight through stainless steel exhaust.
The turbo is matched with a RS500 intercooler and radiator system to keep air cool and dense for better turbo response, samco hoses & a very large foam cone induction kit.
Other additives: Baileys breather kit, new freshly painted rocker cover, Turbo oil filter, 4x4 idle speed control valve for anti-lag modified to give moderate ant-lag, stainless steel header tank, new steering rack, new steering pump, new fuel pump, new fuel pump feed to insure good reliability.
Transmission: standard box and diff, no problems with them at all.
Management: New engine loom made by Ryan at car looms with all new plugs, wiring to run launch control and anti-lag, level 8 ECU chipped and mapped by Motorsport developments specifically for the engine build specs for 400BHP, coil pack driver board with wasted spark coil pack & twin amplifiers. Standard car interior loom unchanged as works fine.
Suspension is Gaz coil-overs with poly flex bushes almost all round, track rod control arms not poly bushed as advised not to.
Brakes: standard brakes which have been re-built still work incredibly well, new rear calipers all works great with a nice firm pedal, ABS all in working order.
Gauges: Ford racing boost gauge, Ford racing oil temp gauge, Ford racing oil pressure gauge
& Vems gauge-Fuel/air ration with exhaust temperature monitoring.
Alarm: Clifford Concept 600, has the ability to remote start, full lock with window closure, anti-theft code pad, etc the list goes on.
Bodywork: Rear whale tail re-sprayed and black lip re done too, engine bay stripped and sprayed, minor bits done to keep it clean, bodywork is in very good condition.
Interior: Standard spec RS Cosworth interior with new dash as old was cracked, seats in very good condition for the age. Original parcel shelf, all works fine.
Sunroof works and is good working order.
Wheels: 17 Split rim lookalikes with eagle F1 tyres on the car with 15 RS500 alloys with center caps, locks and key on good tyres too. All comes with the purchase of the car.
