My Escort Cosworth - done by Gabat

hi,

here are some pics of my car which i own since 1994 now.
I bought it as an 300hp Wolf Car. Then the car unluckily went to Engels for some mods.Then i brought it to Suhe-Motorsport.And after all that, i went to Gabat Tuning in Austria in 2004.they do the mods on my car until now....

For those who are interested in, here the technical specs of the car in 2006:

Power: 717,6 HP at 5932 rpm
Torque: 825,3 NM at 5494 rpm
Top-Speed: 304 km/h at 8000 rpm

technical details:

- 2.3 liter with nicasil-wet-liners, special cams and so on...
- Race-Turbo by Gabat Tuning special designed to work with this engine spec. in HillClimb&RaceTrack
Means spools up very quick,but also it´s big enough for an high power output
- special made intercooler by Gabat-tuning
- RS500 inlet-plenum. inside polished
- additionally catch-tank-system with 2 high-pressure pumps
- 3" Moongose exhaust with only 1 muffler
- Bilstein coilovers in Gabat hill-climb-spec
- fully adjustable WRC front beam
- front and rear diff 7.5" - 3.62 and special made for over 700 HP
- 6 gear RD straight-cut dog-box with upgrade from Gabat-Tuning and PowerShift-knob
- 3 paddle ap-carbon clutch
- 330mm ap-racing brake with 4 pot monoblock and sintered pads
- 3-pieces Kerscher wheels in 10.5x18 with 265/35 Yokohama AVS Sport
- complete Race-cage in alloy from Heigo
- WRC front bumper with special designed IC-opening and air-plates to get all the air pressed thru
- WRC rear wing
- digital SPA instruments and STACK rev-meter with performance option
- RaceLogic Traction Control with launch-control.
works great, especially on the Nordschleife or in wet- conditions.

in 2007, after round about 40.000km and for sure more than 30 dragraces and a lot of hardly track driving one liner got fine loses of the nicasil itself.
it happend after mapping with 2.6bar constant boost,fully using of the water/methanol inj. benefits, more aggresive cams for reving up to 8200 revs.
It has done 801hp/842NM. but unluckily only one time...
the engine was still looking perfect, but at the following measurements on the rollers, figures go more and more down.so it seems clear, something must be wrong...
actuall it´s "only" a 2.0l engine which is on the rollers at the vid on youtube.

HockenheimRing 19.10.2008 - the quick right turn into the motodrom towards "Sachs-curve" i was much to fast (~200km/h) and i also did not drove the curve in it´s optimal line. so we went out into the "Sandkasten".
