Default No Oil pressure NEED HELP :(

no oil pressure on full rebuild series 2 engine. oil lights stayed on etc. Question ? my dad recs that you can prime the pump and it will start working ok then ? working on the fact no oil in pump then it doesnt work. prime with oil then it carries on working ?

This from wot i can see is taking alan key of top of pump obviously putting oil in will this work or is it new pump time ?

yes it was a new pump along wiv new eveything else its just the primimg buit i am after before i start to strip it back down ? it looks like pump can come off whilst engine is still in?

lol yes the problem is most likely to be that the oil pump was not primed... either that or the key bit that drives the pump off the crank is buggered. (very unlikely if it was ok before!!)
You can change the oil pump with the engine in.. you will just have to undo the top engine mount and push the engine down as far as you can.... it will prob take about and hour + to do

cheers mate i tried priming pump with no avail so going to drop the sump over the weeked to see if i can see anything obvious

you can force oil into the galleries via the oil pressure switch port to prime the pump otherwise

pickup pipe is on yes i tried to take pressure relase thingy off oil pump last night and put oil down that way but still no avail i am pretty sure somwthing else is a miss as surely by now it would of just started to pump oil

Did you refit the woodruff key on the crank, so that the pump is driven?

Wen you took that allen key bolt out to prime the pump was there a spring behind it? if no the burtons uprated for higher oil pressure is only 80p i think
