I have a S1 that is a pain in the arse to start. When i turn the key it will just turn over with out firing until i press the accelerator pedal then it will fire but not start straight away. If i keep my foot on the pedal it will eventually start but sounds like its missing. After a few seconds its ok. Now before it got this bad,if i replaced number 3 spark plug it would start 1st time for a little while but every so often it would struggle to fire. After a couple of weeks i would have to replace the 1 spark plug. Last week i replaced the number 3 plug as normal but still when it did start it was missing its arse off.
So replaced all of the plugs and hey presto it started and ran with out its miss fire. The only difference now is that it takes ages for it to fire and when it does for a few seconds it sounds again like it is missing its nads off.
Was told by some 1 that that it sounded like a injector was faulty.That was when it just kept killing 1 plug. Now i dont have a clue. Any 1 help please???????

 

Defo fuelling issue not plug issue, the plug/s are being killed by most likely a crap injector, as you've been told, try swapping the injectors round and see if the plug problem moves with the injectors, or have them cleaned, even diy in a ultrasonic cleaner Ł20 from lidl.
Worth trying some fuel system cleaners such as wynns, but don't think it will cure it.
Once it is running nice and hot I would check the co.

As it's MFI and not EFI, I don't think you will be able to get any different, but have never tried, std decent ones will be fine.
