cd plasyer please help
hi there i fitted a cd player to my friends toyota corrola and all the wires and every thing connescted with adaptor but the fuse blew once and since replacing it an trying other fuses it wont go on is there an internal fuse that could have gone??
yes sometimes there is either one in the back of the head unit or there could be little glass fuses inside the casing but i doubt it will be the latter, your best bet is to get a multi meter on the loom and check you haven't burn't the cable out or something you could of even burn't the unit out if it was connected properly, i'd first connect the red and yellow wires to the positive on the battery and the black on the negative if it still don't turn on then you deffo no it's the unit not car wiring
It's blown for a reason most likely a short circuit there are 2 +12V supplies (Constant and Live) each need to be live for the set to work and normally a 10A in the back of the set but doubt it's blown this as would have blown the mentioned first.

hi there thanks for the replys i will put the mulitmeter on the loom tomorrow and see. the glass fuse on the back of the unit blew once before because my brother stupidly conected the cd player straight onto a 12v battery and the fuse blew with a bit of smoke from it could this have also recked the cd player itself??
thanks
thanks

If stereo lives from car have no power then yes it would have blown the fuse. Just go through with a meter checking the continuity of all fuses would be easist way unless there is a diagram or you know off hand which one has gone.
