I have bought a series 1 focus rs with around 37k miles from a reputable dealer of rs's but in less than 1 day the turbo failed. They have replaced the turbo but in only a few hours the turbo has failed again. It looks like a lubrication problem to the turbo to me but I wondered if this was a common thing that points to a bigger issue that I should be afraid of, or is this an unusual thing that has a smaller non serious problem behind it?

Any advice would be appreciated to quash my fears thati am about to have to embark on a road to ruin due to the start on a long list of issues this car may have.

check the oil feed to the turbo, probably starving it of oil

 

I had this problem it was the oil feed pipe, unscrew it and disonect ur ht leads from ur plugs the crank the car over to see if oil is coming out as it should be

 

bit silly of you to put another turbo on without trying to figure out why the first one failed. is the second one still under warrenty?
probably a blocked oil feed pipe.

did the 2nd turbo fail the same as the first one. its just a possiblily ur first one failed of nautral causes and the 2nd one was a duff from the factory

Check the gauss inside the banjo bolt.

 

cant believe they didnt check if there was a problem which caused the turbo to fail!

 

Did they change the oil it may be full of crap
