Default Focus Doors Locking Whilst Driving

Morning All!

Hopefully someone can advise on this... My 2001 Y Focus has started locking the doors for no reason whilst driving

Any idea's what it can be, and what I can do???

Usually a dodgy drivers door locking mechanism is to blame.

Thanks for the reply, but it's all the doors that lock.
Sometimes as I've driving along I can hear the doors trying to lock but don't too.

Possible connection or electrical faut?

Its got central locking mate- if the drivers door mechanism is faulty all the doors will lock when the drivers door 'malfunctions'.
in my opinion either your driver or passngers mechanism is faulty as either would cause this.

we have a ford falcon here in OZ and my wife has set something in the car that automatically locks the doors as she selects drive in the auto box (carjacking) she feels much safer in it now.

You can configure it as an option via combination of keyturning and door opening/closing - do a search. if it does it intermittently though and has 'just started', it's more likely and electrical problem than eeprom data randomly changing!!!
