Default Stage 3 Head Conversion

Hi guys,

Currently one of my S1 engine's is running just under 200bhp with 18psi boost. It has a standard head and internals. I've been offered a stage 3 head. Can anyone tell me what power increase I could expect if I fit a stage 3 head? Also will there be any bad effects e.g increased lag? and will I need any remapping etc after fitting it, or is just a case of swapping the head and off you go?
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

S1Luke

as with any mod done to any car its best to to have it set up. more so on a turbo car. and as your running 18psi on standared internals your on borrowed time imo.

It will make it less responsive, but will allow higher peak power.. but if your engine isn't going to flow that air, due to a small turbo or weak internals, then it's pointless. To be honest, on a 1.6 you really need a low-comp steel bottom end and a large turbo to truly benefit from a ported big-valve head.
