help my friends car is doing our heads in its a series one running 1600 cvh with cossie management and the car had the engine taken out to be sprayed, then back it went and the fun has started...... it eventually starts but sounds like its running on 1 or 2 cylinders with shit loads of smoke (fuel) out the back, so far checked timing and trigger ring on cam pulley seems ok and tried diff cap and main ht lead still no joy any ideas??? thanks
also it had a new groupa fuel pump fitted.

 

hi there it sounds like your fuel metering head might be not flowing the right amount of fuel through or far to much as i have had a total nitemare with my mates series 1 not runing right it even went as far as locking the engine they are so temramental and trying to get 1 thats not broken is hard as there so common fauilt.I had to get 3 of them and build 1 out of the 3!!!!!!hope this can help

 

its on cosworth management so wont have metering unit

 

Have you damaged the crank sensor or moved the trigger ring? what crank trigger set up are you using?

 

have you taken off the ht leads atall because it will still run with the leads the wrong way round, but badly!!

 

it was my car all sorted was mapp sensor!!
