Default Does anyone know......ECU

Whether it is best to reset a engine ECU from cold or warm.

I am talking about when u take battery lead off for ten minutes and then engine goes to safemode and then you reconect and the engine then resets to proper settings.

But shorely if the car engine is warm the ecu will not be able to reset the idle speed?

I just thought that if done from cold the ecu would then recognize the idle at cold , all the way to warm?

It has compensation tables for such things.

Anyway, a "reset" on most older fords will do nothing other than clear the fault code table as far as im aware as the ECU's dont have learning built into them or anything like that.

PS

PM'ing "Flux Capacitor" and ask him to look at this thread might be a good idea.
