As title 97 1.6 si scort hunts (sometimes) also using shit loads of juice any one got any ideas plz?

Check lambda sensor the wires to it can and often break this will cause excessive fuel and poor running!!!!!!!!!

Are u sure the sensor has not packed up ?and are u getting a live feed to it? is it ok when cold?

there is a smale rubber hose on the crank case breather system under the coil pack these tend to split with age and make the car hunt and use alot of fuel as it is also part of the emistions control system ford do still sell them as i brought two today the are about 2 inchs long and have a 90 degree bend on the end if you need the part number i will dig it out for you

Can see two pipes one i believe is aircon the other fucks off towards the bulk head no 90 degree bend in it and it seems fine both of these are under coil pack , any idea?

another guess is if it has a maf sensor then take pipe of and blow out ,this can give a false reading if it has moisture in it and make if overfuel.

The only other thing is to get a mobile tuning man

ok mate there is a crank case brather under the exhaust mainifold on the front of the engine on the gear box side of this unti there is a tubber pipe that jions into a metal pipe that is held under the coil pack by one of the gearbox bolts it runs up along side the engine the joins in to the ruber hose that i was saying about b4 and this joins onto the inlet mainifold on the bottom corner trust me it is there

ate ya rev's playin up on idle aswell coz it prob b the idle control valve got that prob on mine but i got the 1.8 i think the icv is under the throttle body and a bastard to get at..
