Default torque settings on cossie head

hi folks i want to put my head back on but the torque settings say stage 2 is 70 then stage 3 is 170-180 degrees more , the problem is i dont have a angle torque wrench so i wondered if there was a setting i could use rather than trying to find or borrow a wrench off someone cheers cosbag

You have to tighten them down using set angles as they are stretch bolts, so they are disgned to be set under a amount of tension via the amount youve stretched them by (lol could have worded that bit better i'm sure...but its late)....using a torque wrench wont work. Just by a angle gauge...cheap ones are only a few quid and no matter how much it costs ie cheapo or Snap-on, they all do the same job to the same standard.

Easy m8,just think of a circle or clockface

180 degrees is from 12 o'clock down to half past 12

Or half a circle if thats easier to understand

Yeah its easy if you've done it before but, if he's gotta guess 70 degrees as well.....a cheapo angle gauge is under a fiver and if I were a novice I'd pay the fiver just for peace of mind lol

thats exactly what i do. but i go 90 degrees then pause then the next 90 or what ever, as it is easier to judge right angles or smaller than it is to judge a larger angle in 1 go
