got a cheapo micra k11, when trying to hold the speed at say 20 or 30, its like a constant jerkyness, its doing my nut in, its like your going up and down with the throttle...
anyone know what causes this and what to look at, air filter looks clean , spark plugs look ok etc ive cleaned the throttle body out, wiped it etc etc..its a throttle with cable engine if that helps, would ask on the micra website i joined, but useless on there.
Have a spray around the inlet manifold carb/throttle body with brake cleaner. The rpm might alter if there's an air leak somewhere also, if it's got a dizzy cap might be worth having a peek in there too. Hope this helps
I had similar with an old Mondeo a few years ago, unplugged the air flow meter and it ran much better. Put a new air flow meter on and all was well again!
was looking at it before, and if i unplug the idle valve, the idle speed revs dont change at all, dos that mean its fooked, plugging the connector in and out and when running and no change what so ever in the low idle speed.

Was the engine up to temp as AFAIK a lot of cars don't use/need the iscv when warm.
You have probably spent more on parts already than a 140,000 mile Micra is worth !! Depends how much the car means to you as to how much more you do to it.
it`s only cost 10 quid for an idle valve, and Ł20 for the air flow sensor...both new aswell, so not too bad
i have tried spraying stuff all around the inlet to see if it changed revs etc, nope..
also i did take the battery off before then went out for a bit, thrashed it a few times, nearly got 60 mph in 2nd gear in a 1.0 micra..fook me..ha..poor thing..
also it did seem to settle down on the revs, but leaving it now till the morning to see if it starts reving up and down..
pissing cars...
thanks guys for all the suggestions and help, micra site i joined was useless..
