My lad picked up his first RS today

Ah yea everyone buying an RS but me. I'll stick to my 1.6 then so heh. I'll add pics when weather improves. Nice pics folks.

I think the focus is/was one of the best cars Ford have ever built.

Powerworks kit looks familar...Will Pedley's old one? Looks like the same engine too

How is the old Focus Dave? Has it turned a wheel since you snapped an engine mount?

 

Mine after a few changes. It's a 1.6 zetec. Lowered on eibachs 30mm and blistein b4 struts.

its the egr bodykit i had it on my mk1 focus 😉

Kellys now got an airtec fmic, mongoose stainless and k+n gen2 fitted but she's still not happy and wants a decat and bluefin don't know if father Xmas will get a decat down the chimney though lol

 

Lots of very nice top of the line RS's & ST's in this thread.

To make you all look good or even better I give you my "fully loaded" MK1 Ghia

She is a proper 'Plain Jane' with 90 raging horsepower of TDDI 'smoothness'

She does sit on -30mm eibach springs although you cannot tell, has had a rear disc conversion, other than that is unmodified. She does NOT even have ABS brakes as they were an option back in '99

But does have full heated leather, a trip computer and all the other "Ghia refinements" You don't see that that much these days but I swear every auto-trader ad that had a Ford Ghia used that phrase "Usual Ghia refinements". I like it





It is a Ghia and a Ghia shall not be modified..........they are too refined to start with

I'm only jealous, my 1998 Zetec is "nearly a Ghia" with all the bits I've upgraded, though my leather seats aren't heated but I do have a rear centre armrest and (extremely rare) cruise control and a Ford OEM SatNav !

Studs being fitted



knife edged and balanced crank





Supertech forged pistons and Farndon rods



Sub frame and underside tidied up



362mm discs and AP 6 pots (balance pipe moved to correct location now!)



KW V3's fitted





Peron stainless manifold (off being ceramic coated at the mo)



bucket seats and harnessses in place with detachable steering wheel







BCS 3" stainless exhaust and Reyland 330mm rear brake conversion fitted



Engine back from builder



And now back in place

Can't take all the credit. Mostly my son's work as it's his car. I'm more an adviser/assistant 🤓

my hobby but rarely drive it these days as pugged away





my daily runner, pic taken by last owner btw as to me its just a clean estate

 

i put the mrk 1 RS alloys onto my estate and it drove horrible and removed them straight away

 

It wasn't a bad one mate but it needed a bit of tidying here and there.

Only sold it because my daughter was on the way and I needed to get my cossie finished quick! I wish I'd kept the RS and sold the cossie now!!
