I always wondered what they were when I see them on the q8 saph rally cars

 

I can see the appeal for brake cooling reasons on a competitive level but I don't think your cossie suites it mate, looks like wheel trims that are on their way off.

 

Just like the sapphire cossie rally cars.

Karl3dr. You must have been gutted to see such a nice Saff written off!! A lot of work must have gone in to it by the looks of it. Hope you had it well insured and got a good payout.

 

ircossie76. Each to their own but they look awful to me. On a road car you would have to make sure you parked so far away from any curbs or you would wipe them out in an instant!

Took a little bit of time out from Desterstorm to treat the 4by to a new set of wheels, tyres and MOT, was going to tax it and use it during Sept but looks like I'll be away with work again on Friday so it's back in the garage again!

Thanks for the comments lads, it does help to give the car a fresh look now and again but it's hard to beat a set of these wheels I reckon so they'll be staying on indefinitely.

Car had 18"s on it 16 years ago so I had some arch work done way back the , but then I got sick of the handling and swapped to 17's, now that it's not a daily and it doesn't get driven much I thought I'd cope with the 18's again.

 

 

ircossie76 Your Saff looks nice and I know its your personal choice but the wheels and stretched tyres do nothing for me. They just dont look right to me and you must have to be so careful not to kerb them!

 

There only a little stretched on the front and I'm changing them soon. I avoid curbs like the plauge and park a mile away from them like a c#@t.!!

 

My wheels are old school OZ Racing Cronos spoked style which I like and are easy to keep clean.


17x7.5 with 215/40/17 Federal 595RS tyres.



I think they suit a lowered Saff.
