I would either have flown or done a one way car rental from enterprise or similar, cheapest car is about £20 and about £40 in fuel?

took 7 and a half hours down, drove back in 5 and a half and that's with stopping 3 times for a burgerking, fuel and car wash.
well happy so far, smooth acceleration right up to the speed limiter. hit it without noticing how fast I was going.....
cars been looked after and just had a major service 3 months ago , no knocks or rattles, no rust at all and the interior is spotless

one way usually incurs charges for them to return the car to the original depot.
all in its cost me £360 to go get it and that's including train/fuel for the drive back and a days wages lost for taking the day off. its 388 miles from Edinburgh to Cardiff so I cant see that I would save anything by paying someone else to do it other than not missing a days wages.

its booked to go in tomorrow morning for a bigger set of c63 amg alloys and decent tyres. its got cheap shit tyres on just now. the tyres are quite big with 255's on the back and 225's on the front but I never scrimp by using cheap tyres since my right foot is so heavy !
its also getting the windows tinted tomorrow so ill post up pics tomorrow night .

Easiest way is to just take a pic on iPad or phone and then click that yellow mountain thing on the reply, it then says search device, go to the pic where you store it and it auto uploads. You can do this on a pc if the pic is saved on the pc, no need to host the forum does it for you

its a lot of car for not a lot of money and in really good condition, got it for £2600 with service history and 10 months mot. 260ish bhp and 590nm torque is more than enough ! spent another £865 today getting the alloys with uniroyal rainsport3 tyres and the window tints.

rainsport3 's are always my choice of tyre. the grip is amazing , they totally transformed my little A class. this car owes me about 3 and a half grand all in now which is cheap motoring but it looks and feels at least double that. fair enough its not the AMG I was original looking for but ive got the estate I was wanting ,got good performance, added my mods and ive still got a couple of grand left from my original budget for buying the AMG !

Chavston central with the tints and wheels but its a lot of car for the cash if you get a couple of years motoring from it. Top barging. Keep us updated

That's a nice looking motor and an awful lot of car for the money. Looks in good condition too. Think the wheels look good on it as well. I think you've done really well there. Hope it gives you a good few years of trouble free motoring
What you gonna spend all the left over cash on? More goodies for the Merc?

Looks nice that fuzzy! What you going to do about that disgraceful arch gap? Surely you need a ladder to get into it!

its all in hand, theres plenty more chavness still left in me ! 30mm all around should be enough. no need to upgrade the brakes as theyre big enough. it doesn't need much meddling from me other than ill give it a service to make sure its all fresh.

just sorted out my insurance renewal and although ive added commuting to my policy this year I'm now paying £3 a month less for this 3 litre turbo than I was last year for my little 2.1 A class.

does anyone whos clued up on mercs know why I cant get a Haynes manual for my car? on the covers they state they only cover 4 and 5 cylinder engines not the v6 I have? would the general underpinnings of the cars be the same from the smaller engine estates in the range as in suspension , brakes etc? mine does have the big 360mm drilled discs and 4 pot caliper set up that was part of the amg sport options pack.
I want to buy an uprated koni suspension/lowering kit but I'm not sure if its a straight forward macpherson strut type set up and easy to change or if its a pain in the arse awkward set up best left alone?
also what sort of mileage should the cambelt or chain be changed?

I don't know the answer to that but expect it is very similar unless it has air suspension (I.e. You can alter the height etc.?) if it is on air then you can lower it just by getting a spacer kit for the ride height sensors.

I don't think it looks chav at all for what it is worth.
