Mk1 focus drive flanges help
Does anyone know if and what the difference is between 2.0. St170 and focus rs?
snapped shaft and flange on track on weekend.

It's the drive flange and hub size I'm interested in mate, the st ones that I have on the car
Seem so small and weedy, I'm scared now after what happened

Well if it's confidence you're after I know of many high power mk1 focus rs's and I've never heard of them breaking a flange. Only twisting drive shafts

Just can't work out what happen, hub nut snapped and caused the flange to snap or vice versa?

Bloody hell. How many times had that been on and off? Maybe over tightening?

Once or twice? It's the flange that's split clean in half that's scary, luckily it happened on a slowish straight and not a fast corner

I wonder if the group A stuff contributed to it? I run group A on mine and haven't had a problem........yet.

Those nuts do look very deep.
Regarding your flange, I'm 95% certain they are all the same on 2.0 zetec amd ST170

Just want to check that there ain't a beefy versions, in the grand scheme of it the group a wheels,nuts and studs can't be that much of a strain

Agreed.... just an observation.
RS flanges I believe to be the same too. It's the hub carrier which differs to non RS models for the extra track width.
