Default Capri 2.8i - what's a special???

I have a 1983 Capri 2.8i that I'm restoring.

What the differences between a 2.8i and a 2.8i special? Is it just the half leather seats, starring wheel and gear knob? I already have the 7 spoke alloy wheels - and I will be on the lookout for an LSD. And can only find the "special" stripe kit on eBay too- not the non special kit...

were there any other differences? And would there be any reason not to make my car look like a special?

Colour coded grill and headlight surrounds and what you have already mentioned, replaced the standard 2.8i in 1984, quite easy to make a normal one a special, only give away will be the registration year, it doesn't state special on the log book.

Thanks for the replies!

Just bought the leather steering wheel and gear knob, and a length of genuine seat centre material.

as for the stripes- were there set colour stripes for different body colours?

what would a white car have? Seen photos of different colours on white cars...

Quaife diff is a cheaper option and no special oils required.
