looks good so far. How much weight are you saving per hole?

Sure you were on the XROC with a red XR2 based in Wales yonks back?

Nice work mate, love a well modded gti. You're putting stacks of work into it!

I'm really liking the curved in holes. Have you got a pic of the tool you're using to make them?

This is the high tech piece of equipment

Aka a piece of exhaust with a flat piece of metal and a nut welded to and a cut down bmx peg 👍👍

I also cut my bumper 😳

So next was the decision wether or not to make a defuser 😎

Product development 😀 need to make it from fibre glass it weighs a fair bit. I've made my new battery tray as I'm now running a smaller battery.

I got my cylinder head back on Monday it's had port and polish, skim, reground valves and new valve stem oil seals. So it should be nice and fresh

Also got the hole sorted where my heating used to live.

And I managed to get myself a set of Cossie pop out rear windows

I've removed it from mine and just got one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12v-2-2kw-...QAAOSwsN9XCgsE

Wanted to clean things up and save some weight but wanted something that could be used to help keep the screen clear still.

Got to keep the weight low down lol. I've managed to get a set of st170 rear calipers and hubs aswell so they will going on with the mk6 rear axle rather than the mk5 rs2000 rear disc axle. I also got round to get another alternator mount aswell as my original one was for an a/c model which I won't running and I got rear brake setup and alternator mount for Ł50

Cool project! Never surprises me to see rust on even newer fords, they really do like to rot.

So I found a safety devices cage on eBay and found to hard to resist

I also got me a thick aluminium sump guard to

Cutting out the old rear cage turned out to be a real pain and clenched when the 9 inch grinder decided to shatter its disc

So I finally pulled the car outside the other day and put the other wheels onto make sure they clear the arches and they definitely make an improvement on the look of the car.

I also got my door cards sorted as well and hopefully collecting another bucket seat this weekend

For the first time in a long time she's got an engine

I had planned on running a rectangular side exit. But then I decided it would probably look sh*t

So I now gone with a teardrop shape side exit

It’s been a while since I updated this lol I’ve made some progress but still not where I should be

I got my zx6 carbs on and we’re up and running

And I got fed up with trying to get fuel in with the strut brace right above the fuel cap 🙄

This was just before the primer went on

After I gave couple of coats

I think it actually is starting to look alright considering it was painted by me in my garage 😂

Rs accessory rear spoiler and one off rear diffuser

Apparently it’s a safety devices one but from what I’ve seen I’m led to believe it’s a sparco one. Yeah but I paid Ł150 for all the primer, paint, hardener and thinners plus I’m not looking for a show car so f*ck it lol

My yellow Escort has a SD cage in it and it looks very different to yours, so I think you're right in that it's probably something else.

Know what you mean on the paint too. I did mine myself, just wasn't worth the expense of paying for a fancy paint job. The runs add character
