Just had a look, they do a heated one for a mk2 for Ł240 all in,no standard screen though, but I suppose I dont have to worry about the heater matrix that I threw in the bin because it weighed a tone, I was just going to use a small electric heater, mk2 screen will fit if I use a mk2 rubber ,sound,oh well I may as well spend a bit more, every time I think I'm getting close I find it needs more money on it.thanks Chris, that will solve 2 problems in 1 so probably go for that
#87
Well tbh your never going to hit top speed of this engine in a 35 year old car that handle like crap unless you have a death wish so compar the st24 against the st220 in a quarter mile strip, st220 is 15.27 seconds and the 24 is 15.92 ,now given that's a heavy lump of car I think in the fez with no cats,no auxiliaries running apart from the alternater and the fact it's being remote turbo ,watter meth injection to stop nock, I think it will do o.k and not much in the way of tuning parts available for either 220 or 24,I know the stats look slightly better but in real terms thers not much between them and the 220 uses speed sensors for speedo and ecu so a nightmare to get to work in something else,

Yeah stickers are a bit in your face but I have a nice every day car and this is just a bit of fun so may as well go the whole hog, spotlights, graphics, cage , spitting flames e.t.c , may even wear a rally helmet through mc donalds drive through just to take the piss,it was never really intended as a serious attempt at a credible classic ford.cheers slammedorion,it's worth a shot but no where seems to be able to get hold of the fiesta ones,

Think the bloke that came out and fitted mine was Dave
Said I needed someone who was careful as car had just been painted
He'd done some work for a mate before...
Sure I give him a extra Ł20 to fit the rear

Yes mate the clear one,but I got a sun strip so looks fine, I've managed to fit it without breaking it so I'm happy, thanks again to slammedorion for the contact, nice quality screen for a nice price

I'm using team dynamics pro race 3 wheels with nankang ultra sport tyres, wheels are 15 inch7j and tyres are 195/45/15 the front and rear arches have been cut off and welded back up with an outer lip incorporated to hold the kit better then drilled holes and filled with fixing foam, kit was spaced out 10 mm to allow to fiber glass to the body as filler cracks and the back beam converted to take focus st hubs and is 280mm wider than original wheelbase
It's allso running a corsa power steering rack so not sure how it would get on with standard rack

Wheels in the previous pics are just to roll it around to save trashing the new ones, if anyone wants them they can have them if they collect, obviously need painting unless you like the scratched primer look
#101
You can have them, ill get them swapped over when I get a chance, there the multi spoke ones not the white ones by the way, they need painting n the tyres are crap but may be of use to you, I just used then for rolling the car round as I brought the car as a bare shell
#102
Sorry, it was actually the multi spoke wheels I was wondering about. Are they 15 or 16 inch dia. Can you tell where they originate from? What tyre size were you using and did you get adequate clearance? Cheers.

They are 16 inch and 195/45/16 ,did catch on full lock but like I said just to roll it about, not shure of the make bu 108pcd 4 stud and 7j offset, big work to get them to work on a mk1 fiesta if that's what you're thinking of putting them on
#104
I think they looked good. Interesting that they are 16's and mostly cleared. I have a MK2 (XR2 body), but rear wheel drive. Rear is a 52inch Atlas axle, so might work. Could they be ST170 or Fiesta ST wheels? The offset figure would be useful...
#108
No problem, more interested in the possibility of getting 16's to fit. Just a thought at present. I've got plenty to work on before I worry about what wheel size will work. I've got some 15's for a start and at least I know they clear the 4 pot front calipers.

Anyone know a decent re map rolling road close to Stafford, Wolverhampton, Walsall e.t.c as I'm going to have a go at remote turboing the beast n tbh it's not really my forte, any thoughts or help would be great. thinking water meth injection to stop nock as forged pistons are shit loads of money and these engines are cheap as, so 10-1 compression ratio isn't ideal for turboing but not the end of the world if you melt a few in the name of fun
Starting to look a bit like a car now

Hi crisis, well the odd thing is I red an interesting article a guy supercharged one of these engines and had nothing but problems with aftermarket e.c.u he tried 2 different brands with no joy and serious hours rolling road then just for the he'll of it they tred the standard factor one and got it running perfect, used a ford f150 maf sensor n different injectors but standard fuel pump, few other bits so don't know? Emailed mega sqirt n they are no help at all,

Hi felicitation for this wonderful work, this seems very succeeded, and if it works as long as the car is beautiful, so it's best!
The gearbox also comes from it a mondeo v6 or another car?
I'm starting the same project as you, so I am very interested by what you do

Yes it's the mondeo 5 speed as the 6 speed uses speed sensors from the wheels for the speedo, this has been an expensive build and took 2 Years, seriously modding stuff and serious fabricating, I couldn't possibly say all that's been done in a few lines but trust me I would never put another front wheel drive v6 in a mk1 fiesta, it was fun but there's better and faster options, this thing has cost over Ł10k
#116
Oh yeah, 1 thing I will say is don't even dream of grafting looms together as you'll never get it to run, I used every single mondeo wire and not one single fiesta one, look at my dash, it's running mondeo everything, inner fliches has to be removed and re fabricated cross member reviews made, one off suspension, etc
#117
Thank you for your response and objectivity.
Today,I am interested by the v6 because it's a challenge at first, and then if it's not uncommon to see this kind of thing across the Channel, that is extremely for us, in France where it is prohibited.
When you say that there are better options for a mk1, or mk2 in my case, what do you think exactly?
Ben

Well you say in your case a mk2, if it's a mk2 you have then it's a bit easier as the engine bay is bigger, so maybe not too bad, the mk1 is tiny so big job to get it to even go in the space, everything has to be one off made, manifolds, drive shafts, mounts, suspension, but a mk2 would probably be a bit easier, there's very few tuning options for the 2.5 duratec so unless you throw bags of money into the engine it's not that powerful, your better of with a cosworth block or rear wheel drive it with something american like a ford small block
