I have a few odd queries about the 2.5 and 3.0 mondeo gearboxes (MTX 75 I believe) if someone can help me out!

• Can the equal length shaft be removed and a CV inserted in its place? It looks very tight for the bellhousing
• Is the box cable shift?
• I assume the clutch is hydraulic?
• Does anyone know if the CVs (either inner or outer) are common with the other MTX75 boxes?

For a project, what I'd like to achieve is a short driveshaft into the engine side of the box, with a drive flange and wheelbearing on the end, ideally this sort of style:





Does anyone know if any front drive fords used such an arrangement and may have a compatible outer CV with the mondeo?

Mk7 transit has a suitable looking wheelbearing







I believe they used an MTx75 box too?

Are the inner CV joints common?

 

Ebay suggests the outer CVs are completely different, as are the driveshaft splines
