It mentions it in the road test twice - standard tyres are Michelin Super Sport and Cup 2s are an option

I know it says it but I wasn't offered an option. The US and Australians have the option but not in UK. The press did mention it when they did the review annoyingly, just like a lot of them quoted the wrong price.

I nearly ordered a personalised '16' plate for mine but by the time it comes (system showing September and deposit was paid October last year) It will be on a '66' plate anyway! Never had a new car before and certainly never done this whole waiting 10+ months for one..l

the press car in metallic blue they were showing at FF last year looked dull I though..

But saw the finished article today in the light blue, and think they look great.
All the critics on here were always moaning that the FRS wasn't 'a proper rs because it's FWD'. Guess they are just finding whatever they can to criticise now. Lol

Not sure it's criticism just opinions. After all that's why this thread was started to get people's opinions? Some people like it, some people don't. I personally think it looks gash but then a mate of mine is practically wetting himself over them. Just a difference of opinion surely?

Thats the thing even though i just dropped 34k on mine the body is very tame for a car wearing a rs badge but like any ford mine wont remain like that, 1-pd came with me to pick it up and we went from the dealership over to his mates place in essex that has just had his frs fitted with a very aggressive US body kit and respray and it looked epic, i love the way it drives just not how it looks, but hey its a ford and will be right for some but not all

blimey Lee not many people would walk into a dealership pay their money then give me the keys and say you can drive it home , must be hard saying goodbye to your mk2 having owned that from new as its one of my favorite mk2 frs around but that salesman almost had a "crisis" when we pulled into their car park and when he looked around he could not find a single fault, enjoy it fella

I don't understand people complaining about it not looking wild.

The MK1 RS2000 didn't look wild, neither did the MK2 RS1800, S1/S2 RST, Saph Cos, FRST, MK5/6 RS2000 or Fez RS1800.

Most RS products are very tame looking in reality. Only the 3dr, EsCos and MK2 RS really looked particularly extrovert.

the people saying this are now paid up owners so its their cars and their opinions and tastes, like any ford it will be modded to the point it becomes marmite

Is it tame for an rs badged car or are we expecting too much?
There's only 3 widebody rs' I can think of, the rest have arch spats stuck on.

My thoughts too.......
What's the point in something looking like a rocket and only packing 220bhp.
At least the mk3 rs has 4x4, drift mode and 345bhp.

It is not tame

haha if only, their minds were made up long before they even told me they was getting one, there was one at beaulieu with a wrap on it and when we chatting with the dealer yesterday he had another request for alternate paint job at further expense, ford are a car of the people who knows what they will look like in 10yrs time, furry dice a garfield and neon lighting who knows , Im a ford fan first so what badge it wears is of no real importance

I was the driver, gave it some in my toe caps.
Normal mode felt like a normal 300+bhp with brilliant handling, the level of grip on a wet road was unreal.
Flick it into sports mode the steering seems to tighten up along with the suspension.
The pops and crackles remind me of mild anti lag on a cosy.
Honestly that alone done it for me.
Didn't see the point in trying drift or track mode the first 2 settings were good fun.
Didn't touch the damper settings, maybe of use on a particular track or if you want normal mode to handle better?

I need one its trick

Glad you enjoyed it, must have been a sensible Dealer who realises people will want to drive one themselves.

So,I'm reading the latest EVO mag which has a full performance test of a focus rs. I did a double take at the 1/4 mile time. 13.5@104mph. Thought it would have been 13 dead or lower? My old sierra with only 260hp matched the time if not the speed, and a decent stage 3 Saff is 12.7 Ish?

Both of those cars are quite a lot lighter than the Focus which probably accounts for a lot of it.

The v8 mustang also matched it's 1/4 mile time and lap time. I thought the focus should of been quicker round a track.

I think that looks horrible. But then I don't like the "Fast n Furious" franchise either
