Thanks, everyday is progress I hope, spent a little bit of time today trying to remove the wiring loom, there are literally loads of extra bits spliced in for alarms and such that I want to carefully take out and then remove the standard loom and inspect it to see what, if any I want to re-use.
Steve, trying not to go for second hand wheels if I can avoid it, been burned a few times with allegedly straight uncracked rims and it's just been a load of hassle and got me all in a rage lol.
The bumper is a lotus Carlton copy, it will have to be extensively modified to fit, I am led to believe the original incarnation of the car had a genuine lotus item, but it's dissapeared and I gave up trying to track it down. I found the person with the original moulds so I could get a genuine bumper but it was Ł750 without the fixings and would still have to be cut up to fit.
Glenn, I wish, still months of work involved, but I have most of the bits for it which is a bonus.

A bit more progress, stripping bits off in the engine bay, just some wiring to remove now, will get that done later this week.
Need too sort out a hyd. clutch, seems there was one installed before by the loooks of it.
Still looks a mess inside, but if you had seen the amount of wiring I removed then you wouldn't believe your eyes, sadly my phone went flat so I didn't get a photo, all the unessential wiring is now in the skip. I also ended up cutting the engine loom out and bought a brand new one.

Looking good Rog
All takes time mate, a guy on escos forum does good hydro setups for a great price if you'd like me to sort one out.
Hoping to have my saff back early next week, looking forward to it.....bit more paintwork than id of liked but it will be stunning so worth it.

Thanks, I'm away again tomorrow so I won't have any updates for a while.
I now have an engine, gearbox (with hyd. conversion), diff, rear shafts, all running gear, handbrake, washer bottle, fuel pump cradle, brand new loom, group A strut brace, not much more major things missing that I don't have apart from a cloth interior, so I'm on the look out for one of those, good front seats seem to be scarce.....
Still need lots of small bits like hoses, breather kits and tanks, clutch etc, etc...

Nice to see some people are jealous that's really weird but amusing!
Thanks Ran, it's nice to hear there are still some cars out there that are still intact and have a nice bit of history about them.
Glenn, no recent photos, I'm hoping by the time I return it will be almost ready for paint, I will then have to get the strut tops repaired from the many holes accommodating the old setup to the new grp a strut brace, and then dismantle an escos to get the box and hydraulic clutch out of and likely mod the bulkhead before it's all painted, that's the plan anyway. Progress at this stage is slow because I'm reliant on the bodyshop and trying to time things with my work schedule, once it's painted it should move a lot faster.

Nope eventually had to admit defeat, ended up ordering a group a one from Mike Rainbird, not had it delivered yet but judging by the description it sounds exactly what I need.
Haha, bitter tag queens are out again I see, you just can't stop looking at my thread

Cheers for the sentiment Glenn but I'm not phased by it, I know who it is and they'd never say it to my face, id be glad if they did as I would get some excercise. He'll get bored eventually and fuck off when he realizes the Internet isn't as real as he thought

Thanks for the support, I appreciate the encouragement
Here are some small updates, and although its moving slowly it's all progress whichever way you look at it.
Front wings are virtually complete and now moving attention to the rear quarters, the door and boot have been fitted for now to check panel gaps. Still a long way to go but it will hopefully move much faster once the rear quarters are finished. Presently welding up the holes from the old strut brace, and I have a group A one to go in in its place.
Some other projects they have in at the moment, S1, Escos and Rs2000

10K+ Poster!!
Making excellent progress. Is there a deadline to get it done? (Ford fair perhaps??) Think it'll looks awesome finished.

It will most likely be blue, whatever colour I opt for I'll always have second thoughts anyway, so probably no point in swaying off the original, at least I know what it will look like roughly when done. I do want black, but as Jay said its a pain to keep clean and you see a lot of swirls and marks, having owned a black car before I would think twice about doing so again.
Also agree about modern colours on old cars, they just don't go.
Seems to be progressing well this week, strut holes are welded up and fuel cap on rear drivers quarter has been sorted and I managed to get a complete new cap as well. Didn't have my phone on my at that point but will get a few more photos later this week. There are a couple of holes in the floor that seemed to have been cut for a different gearbox, probably about 4" square, I've asked for that to be closed up since it will be running a T5 again.
I have been looking at wheels, I want TH2 1780, in 18", however these have been unavailable for years, I spoke to compomotive yesterday, they agreed they could supply as long as I ordered 200.....half considering a group buy of sets of 5, but it's early days yet, not sure I want the hassle of administrating that.
