Been a while since updating the thread, cars been in storage as we moved house and I no longer have a garage to work in. I’m rebuilding the engine over the winter as it’s in storage at my parents garage so I can work in there, I’m hoping to make a start on the shell in the new year.

29/4/20 engine work
Hi all been a while since i last posted. Since been in this covid lockdown i thought i would make a start on the engine.
My plan is to strip it down and re paint the block and other parts. fit new seals and gaskets ect. The original water pump and oil pump are still fitted, i was planning on changing these both for new items but id like to keep the ford oil pump but can they be cleaned and used again?? anyone done this?
I stripped off what i could and set about taking the head off, while doing this following the correct bolt undoing sequence i got to number 6 and it was loose... hmm strange, turns out the bolt had snapped in half some time ago and was being driven like this, so i now have the job of getting the snapped bolt out of the block.
Anyone got any tips or advise while i do the engine build?

Lovely car mate glad your still going at it. Iv got a black one I've not started yet and had it over a year. Lack of garage does suck. With the bolt if it was me I'd coat it in plenty of wd40 let that work for a bit and the grind a flat face on top and get the bolt head clean that up and flat face again weld on and hopefully that should get it out daz.

As for the stud I was going to do as you said but I have no electric over my garage so cant fire the welder up lol. Gunna try the two nuts method as see if I can unwind it out.

Been a while since I last posted. The car has been over in storage as I moved and lost my garage space at home. This week I finally picked her up and it's now at my work for me to work on all week. Should be plenty of updates this week.

Engine bay painted
So after getting the engine bay in primer I had a chance to get it prepped and painted. I decided to get it sealed up and painted to keep it at bay from the dreaded weather we have all been having. I done the inner wings too. I'd like to have had the wings fitted before paint but it's not a big problem.
