Welcome mate
Power well that depends on how much$$$ you have
You can start with a 421 exhaust and a sports cat which will help it breath better ( plus you get pops and bangs if you have a tape ecu.
Then you want a panel filter, then if budget allow you can fit some cams.
As for the rear disc conversw it not necessary tbh, but you should change all the bushes for the powerflex ones makes a big difference. Im in the process of dping the same thing check out my thread

Thankyou mate

Yeah im looking at a 4-2-1 de-cat atm, just struggling to find them anywhere apart from ebay
funny you mention powerflex bushes, they are on the list of things to do cause the rear axle bushes are shot to bits atm.
As for the filter im running a cone atm that next week will have 2 50mm air ducts running from the bumper to it, but would a panel be better still? Mmmmm think cams are sadly abit above the budget

I thought the weight of a std puma and fiesta was roughly the same.Has to be something in it because a lot of fiesta boys are sticking puma lumps in them and say there rapid lol.i think the mk4 fiesta is roughly a Tonne and Curb weight of a puma according to wiki is 1035-1039kg

The 1.7's are great motors, although at high BHP the VVT becomes redundant, plus you're only realistically looking at 10bhp at the top end over a 1.6.
Simple breathing mods really help them rev, I'm only running a Green cone on my Puma and it revs fantastically.
As for rear discs, Focus rear hubs are the done thing, but make sure you have hefty brakes at the front else you'll be over braking the rear with discs.

Well if the wiki are saying from 924kg it would have to be base spec at a guess,ie no electric mirrors, window regulators, bits of extras like trim or something im no expert on trim specs lol.But what have you removed now Ryan I no loads that you can remove lol.Id say at a guess somewhere at 900kg and more can be removed. But im not gonna mess this mans thread up we will talk about it on yours mate
It is abit faster than a standard puma, and since yesterday i decided its faster than an st fiesta, some guy round heres got one and has always been saying his is faster, proved him wrong
But like Baggins said im running no back seats, sound deatening or any off the spare wheel or brackets for that now, only thing in the back is a f**king great 15" sub

Fiesta can brake much later and corner harder than a puma.
but the braking mite be down to my fiesta is non abs and the pumas have abs but still running the same size brakes.

petrol mk5s run between 920kgs and 987kgs
Popular to coman belief fiesta mk4s where fitted with everything the mk5 had and more but alot of it was extras only on most mk4 trims where it was more std equipment on mk5s.
fiesta mk5 zs is one of the heaviest petrol mk4s with a manual gearbox if fact most 5 door fiestas are lighter than the zs lol.
The reason people like to put puma 1.7s in fiestas is they are a better engine then anything any fiesta ever had and the fiesta is slightly lighter. nothing more than that really.

I found a big problem with fiestas ajd cones when there fitted in the place of the airbox, the bonnet allows a shit load of water in just where the cone is.

Cones have little protection from above and below in a fiestas engine bay if you just wack it back in the same place as the airbox was.
