just a few more of the underside almost painted and ready for the powdercoated bits and bobs to be fitted. painted my heat shield and could resist putting the poly mounts on. heres a few pics.

just a quick update on the bits i picked up from the powdercoaters today.
the parts were so rusty before i took them to be blasted and paint. very pleased with the result! cant wait to get them fitted. the car is going in for the respray on friday.

Engine Bay Painted

last saturday i preped up the engine bay ready for some paint in the week, i went over to see the car today and heres whats been going on.. pretty hapy with how the bay turned out!
Also the rust has been cut out of the roof ready for repairs.

2/8/11 engine block

been a while since iv posted an update, the car is still over at the bodyshop having the paint work taken care off, things have been slow and i was expecting the car back by now to build up but nevermind! iv been busy doing the engine, iv cleaned my block up and painted it, putting new core plugs ect in and honing out the bores. i got my crankshaft reground which i got back today along with all new bearings and rings ect. just the oil pump to get and fit the new rings to the pistons after iv cleaned them up. iv also been restoring the brake master cylinder assembly too which i will post up very soon. heres a few pics of the block atm. cheeRS!

Got my piston rings off the pistons on thursday night, just need to give them a good clean and fit the new rings now, gunna start on building the engine tomorrow so will keep you all updated! heres a few pics of the pistons

start of engine build

i started to put together the bottom end of the engine this weekend, i managed to get the crank in as i only had a little bit of time. theres a few pics also of how bad the of shells were when i took it apart. more updates soon.

hello all, well i finally had a chance to get the pistons into the block at the weekend, all went in fine with no probs. just need to get an oil pump and a few other bits n bobs. I made a trip over to the bodyshop to see how the shell is getting on, its finally in some primer now and should be in some paint within the next few weeks. Progress has been slow on the shell but will be worth the wait i hope!! heres a few piccis.

just read the whole thread again cos not been on here for ages and youve come along way mate you really have.
Take a look back at how your underside was when you bought it and how it looks now.
Its an amazing transformation.
I looked back at pics of mine a few days ago and id forgot how bad it was.
Will be looking forward to seeing this at some shows next year mate,keep your head in it over the winter cos putting all the new bits on is the rewarding part mate
