Had the Orion out, give it a wash to get the dust off and left it running to get it up to temperature...
Nearly time to re tax it for 6 months...

Tbh I dunno
It goes like a bas*ard now... Traction's the main issue in 1st,2nd and 3rd... Will just max the injectors or turbo out and see what it does

Corsa fuel filter picked up this morning

OpieOils order should be with me on Monday

Borrowed a air rivit gun this afternoon
Will finally be able to put 4 new rivits in the rear arm rest... Now the new trim can go in

Orr right lol. Has the filter got nipples on so the fuel pipe can grip to it and not slip off.

I've ordered some heat proof matting for the bonnet underside

Also ordered a few bits to modify the bonnet release cable, hopefully be able to relocate the cable inside the slam panel

I'll need to trim the slam panel alittle more

I'll have to source some other bolts to bolt the manifold to the turbo, the Allen key heads are a pig to get on with this manifold ( anyone running a tubular manifold what have you used? )

Had a good half day trying to iron out a few issues all because of the exhaust manifold upgrade

Rerouted the bonnet release cable alittle and used some heat protective sleeving round it for now, at a later date I'd like to drill the mechanism and route all the cable within the slam panel...
I've used some more heat protective sleeving over water pipes near by to the exhaust manifold
Changed the original Allen key headed bolts from the manifold to turbo for some 17mm headed bolts
Replaced all the gaskets, manifold spacers...
Also trimmed the slam panel alittle more to allow for engine movement

I've also found a black column bush... Presume it's for the lower part of the column without taking it apart to look?
I'll replace that after Fordfair I think...

As always yes

Although I'm seriously thinking about passing on Fordfair 2017... With the new ticket system and prices I've had enough of it...
Think I'm gonna try some different shows next year with it for a change... I'm happier attending local shows, seeing different cars...

We've been out mapping today with the Orion
We've not increased the boost, just ironed the map out to make it drive better, and tweaked the map as and where needed due to the manifold upgrade
Drives really nicely now, and is quite a handful on boost
I've put 180 miles on it while out today

This manifold upgrade has caused no end of grief, today while out mapping every now and then the bonnets been popping up into the safety catch
After much tweaking it seems to be good again, but didn't dare do any high speed mapping on the motorway with this issue
I've ordered another new bonnet cable and latch mechanism to modify
Unfortunately I've now got a high spot in the bonnet where the new manifold must be pushing on the bonnet when on boost
The high spot hasn't broke the paint, so it'll tap down... I know PDR So it's easy sorted
But I need to sort the clearance out before sorting the bonnet

Anyone with a tubular manifold had to lower the engine and box in the bay?
I'm thinking of spacing the engine mount and box cradle down 5mm might just give me the space needed?

Gotta stick with the manifold now the slam panel has been cut
Just means more modifying
It'll be worth it, the difference with this manifold on is unbelievable
I'll try spacing the mounts after Fordfair a long with more new bits

Interior goes in tomorrow
It's had a scrub with G101 so it's minty fresh for Fordfair
I'll post pics of the interior after Fordfair

It'll be worth it, the difference with this manifold on is unbelievable
I'll try spacing the mounts after Fordfair a long with more new bits

Interior goes in tomorrow
It's had a scrub with G101 so it's minty fresh for Fordfair
I'll post pics of the interior after Fordfair
Cool, sounds good mate...........would love another Orion.

Well we made it to and from Fordfair 2016...
Still a few bits to tweak...
Had a good day, usual Fordfair tan... First year taking littlen to Fordfair, bummer forgetting the buggy... Oh well

Nice to have a complete 90's spec interior in the Orion... ( New retrimmed front seats are still in the making, just waiting on some more material)

Didn't really take many pics, a couple on stand...

Think we've sorted a fix for the manifold... It's coming off and being sold...
Booking it in for a custom manifold... Sod it...
Soon after that engine and box are coming out and it's having the Focus box mods done...
I wanna push the engine for more power now...
