the only reason i didnt get a male mate, kyla is very funny with male dogs. i got her as a rescue dog, she had been used as a breeding machine, and was in a bad way, ended up having to have a cesarean last time she had pups, as there was that many, and then the vet gave her a hysterectomy, she really was, lucky to survive. and when im out walking her, she is fine with female dogs, but if male dogs start sniffing her back end, she goes wild, so i thought it better, to get another female, as ive seen her with other females, and she is fine.
oh no thats awful :( I cant believe some people can be so cruel and put animals through things like that. Glad she got a nice loving home now though :) |

tbh, i think we should have called her yogi (bear) i got exactaly NO sleep last night, she screamed the house down, i was up about fifteen times. i know the best thing to do is leave them, but she was waking the kids up, i could hear my neighbours stomping about next door aswel. and the worst thing, the first night we had her, she didnt start screaming till about 7.30am, she slept like a baby all night |

i agree akitas are very dominant dogs.when mine was about 5 months he used to grawl at my rottwieler which was about 10 years old. akitas get loads of attention though very nice dogs .
i refuse to seperate them though, if there going to be brought up together, they need to get used to each other ASAP, hence why since we have got oki, i have had her and kyla in the same room with me bar bed time, as i wont leave oki with kyla over night, as kyla could accidently hurt her. |
