Ill be ready for some new tyres soon, and was just wondering if anyone knows any good places to buy them.

wat size do u need m8 and how much do u wanna pay

 

Sizes are 180/55zr17 rear and 120/70zr17 front.

Ive got the standard Bridgestone BT014's on my K5 GSXR600 at the moment mate and im happy to stay with these really.

Its only the rear thats ready but id feel better replacing both.

I was also wondering today whether i could fit a 190 rear, but i assume the thou has a wider wheel to accomodate it?

Get a copy of MCN ( out every wednesday ) and look in there , theres always people offering cheap tyre deals , alternatively look on ebay too

And stick with your 180 , its 180 for a reason and although a 190 might look good , if your bike wasnt designed with a 180 in mind then the handling will suffer

 

Yeah your right mate, ill stick with the 180.
Just found a pair on ebay for Ł159 delivered which sounds pretty good to me.

 

going up a size make,s your bike slower tho the corners some people go down a size but never up

 

just fitted new tyres to my thundercat yesterday

did have bridgestone battlax or summut on them

now got Avon Storms, 160/60/17 and 12/60/17 fitted for Ł179 from JHS Racing near bristol.

i took the wheels in and it was Ł20 less than if they do it btw.

only rode in this morning on them, and i was pissing down so took it veeery steady.

but i can feel that any slight movement and bike wants to turn, unlike before

feel good at the mo anyway

 

ps i work in the same office as fast bikes mag, they say to change both tyres at the same time as having odly matched tyres is not a good idea

 

call tt tyres in hillsborough (hawleys bike branch ask for barry tell him i sent you gus hell sort ya out a good price i put dunlop 208rr's on my 750k5 they was mint suited the bike really well imo

Actually it only makes the initial " tip in " feel slower the way to speed up the steering again to compensate would be to lower the yokes , going wider gives a bigger contact patch at the lean angle enabling more grip and more grip means ......
