Next england manager ?

Allardyce - My choice. Would bring a galvanised team spirit. He plays the good old english style which still suits our players more than anything else.

Mclaren - Just dont rate him. All that money hes spent at boro and done nowt special.

Pearce - As he admits himself. Not experience enough

Curbishley - Second choice but not sure he would be up to it

jasonp 24-01-2006 11:59 AM

Whoever it is will get slatted and then paid a few million to leave, doesnt matter does it :(

If the players cant be arsed it doesnt matter who is telling them what to do,get a few lower division players in who still have passion and not money motivations :top:

stonehavencossie 24-01-2006 12:00 PM

Thats why i want Sam the man. He will get them up for it. Look at all the rejects at bolton hes got going.

Will all know that most of the england players need a kick up the backside.

Cast your votes :top:

Mr Brannen 24-01-2006 12:03 PM

I would say Allardyce but I want him foe next Newcastle manager when Souness runs out of time n excuses.
But failing that Pearce wont do it, not sure if Curbishley can do it so probably McClaren

-beefy- 24-01-2006 12:04 PM

maclarens crap if i had my way id hang him from a fookin lamppost

but would bring knowledge of the team so id leave him as a second to the new manager

Stavros 24-01-2006 12:04 PM

I reckon they should give it to that guy who used to manage Lazio in the late 90s.

RichardPON 24-01-2006 12:07 PM

There's even talk of Venables, but I just can't see the FA taking a backward step like that.

Allardyce is a good call.

bud-weis 24-01-2006 12:13 PM

Allardyce - Have you seen Bolton play??? we're finally starting to shake the 'typical England' tag of all fight and no skill!!

can't think of any of the current English managers who'd be up to it. Why any1 would want the job is beyond me?? 1 bad result and the press hound you out :wall:

Benitez would be the best manager for us, but he's staying at Liverpool for good :DD:

Matt J 24-01-2006 02:47 PM

Pearce will make a fantastic England manager, but not yet, if anybody will get them up for every single match (which they shouldnt need  ) it is psycho :top:

same with Paul Jewell, not ready yet.

Allardyce is good at what he does, I just dont think he's an England manager.

Curbishley, maybe, he's the sort of bloke who could rise to the challenge and be very good at it or be the next Graham Taylor, would be a risk

Maybe they should look abroad again until some of our younger club managers are ready for it :?

BlueSmoke 24-01-2006 02:51 PM

Allardyce is awesome. I can just see it now. First game in charge, the lads go into the dressing room at half time. Seeing a tray of oranges he goes over and boots them off the side.

Sam: "Oranges?! Bastard Oranges?!"

Becks: "What's wrong boss?"

Sam: "Where are those bastard meat and potato pies I asked for?"

Bloke comes through the door with the pies, Big Sam grabs one.

Sam: "Dig in lads, ooohhhh!"

They look a bit puzzled and then take a pie each. Big Sam shoves his right into his mouth and proceeds to give a team talk to the baffled players, with bits of potato and pastry dropping out of his mouth.......

Good Poll personally im glad to see to Sven go. I think he lacks the enthusiasm and passion that we want to see displayed by a manager of england.

Out of the list i would go for Alladyce as he has these type of qualities but tatically he isnt use to have the players with the level of quality that he would have the choice of using as England Manager.

There are managers out there who would be good for the job. I hope England dont jump into getting a new manager lined up. Theres no rush when the world cups over just get a temporary coach or assistant in.

What about Martin O'Neill??

MikeR 24-01-2006 02:59 PM

I think another foreigner like Gus Hindick or Luois Scolari would be good both have great track records and are far better then that twat we have now, as for English managers we have none in my eyes that are good enough,

Mike

stonehavencossie 24-01-2006 03:07 PM

The only non-english manager i would consider would be a british one ie.

Alex Ferguson or Martin O'neill.

No more foreign chancers !!

Thoughts ?

Steve Maclaren is fooking shit. Look at all the cash he's spent at Boro and they're still totally wank.

Pearce is a good shout in about 5-10 years time. Allardyce is tactically good but maybe not international material.

I reckon it'll be Gus Hiddink or Martin O'Neil

Tangodeltasierra3 24-01-2006 03:08 PM

Only one Danny Wilson!

The problem with being England manager is the press, they build the players up make them out to be something special when they are very ordinary.

England in my opinion would be a top 10-15 team in the world but dont have the players to challenge Brazil to be world champions. I dont think sven is out of line and a lot he has said is true.

Rooney is from a dodgy estate and does have a short fuse, Ferdinand was going through a lazy patch and was dropped rightly, Shaun Wright Phillips is not worth £24 million pounds and Owen is at Newcastle for the money without a doubt.

RSCAT 24-01-2006 03:31 PM

Pearce will be manager at some point in the future and i think will do an
excellent job.

Steve Coppell is doing wonders at reading but i dont think hes mentally
strong enough for the england job.

Sam Allardyce i think will be the next boss of the cartoon army

Martin O neill would do a job but his wifes ill and i dont think he will
return to football for a while yet.

Not sure wholl get it, just hope it aint another prime minister looking
swede :DD:

There is one thing to it.....it'll be the end of Beckhams international career

About time to John Terry for Captain :top: and im a United fan

tonyk 24-01-2006 04:02 PM

How can people say that about beckham? He was the driving force behind that got england qualified for the last world cup against greece. There was no other player that could have scored that free kick on the pitch that day.

John Terry has never really been tested, chelsea have quality players in every position which give terry a good help. Now poor ferdinand has silvestre whic is worse than a man short!

England team in formation for me would be:

Robinson,
neville, terry, ferdinand, cole,
Lampard Beckham, Gerrard,
Rooney
Owen Defoe

CabbyRS 24-01-2006 04:05 PM

allardyce

Rudey 24-01-2006 04:07 PM

being from nottingham has to be the pysco!! he,d kick the shit out of the puffs on the squad

4 years ago! Ever since then the chicken legged Johan Cryuff/Lothar Mattheus wannabe has daydreamed of being a midfield playmaker instead of doing what he does best and whipping in quality balls from the byline.

Having him in the centre is shite, the only thing he's ever going to tackle is Gary Neviles rectum

smithy20vt 24-01-2006 04:09 PM

In the Greek game yes he was outstanding. But he hasnt lived upto those level of performances since.

Terry has good players around him and its the same for england he ll have Lampard Gerrad Beckham in front of him you dont get much better than that. He is a Leader and if he can do it for chelsea at the highest levels theres no reason why he cant for England

And i think you line up is pretty much spot on :top:

tregmatt 24-01-2006 04:31 PM

id say pearce done a good job 4 man city

:top: :top: :top:

Sally 24-01-2006 04:33 PM

Allardyce ?
Curbishley ?
Pearce ?
Mclaren ?

who are these people lol :?

Gee 24-01-2006 04:33 PM

AS LONG AS HE'S ENGLISH :top: :top: :top: :top:

Graham S1 24-01-2006 04:39 PM

Martin o Neil. :top:

JezSierra 24-01-2006 05:10 PM

allardyce is the best man for the job

but id like to see nottingham legend that stuat pearce is and plus im from nottingham :DD: id like to see him in the job,i reckon he could be in the job for the next 10-15 years if he was chosen!

BlueSmoke 25-01-2006 08:39 AM

I would have:

Robinson

Young Terry Woodgate Cole

Beckham Lampard Gerrard J.Cole

Rooney
Owen

This is the team I would pick AFTER the World Cup. We need fresh faces and when he returns to form Woodgate will be a much better defender than Rio, just as he was before his injuries. Joe Cole I could be tempted to keep as a sub and replace with Stuart Downing if he gets games under his belt and recaptures his form. :top:

DanRSturbo 25-01-2006 08:53 AM

Martin O NEil, or Jose Mourhino IMO :top:

And as for the england squad

Robinson (No James, you're a shower of shit)

Neville, Terry, Cambell, Cole

Beckham, Lampard, King, J Cole

Owen Defoe

BUK 25-01-2006 09:12 AM

Big sam is the obvious choice, but you got to ask yourself , will he want to be out of club footy ie everyday footy and become the england manager ?

There is also talk of him going to Newcastle which i think will happen to be honest.

Im scotttish , so i think you should go for Graeme Souness :top: :top: :top:

jumpin jack crash 25-01-2006 10:01 AM

pearce out of those 4 for me but its far too early for him

allardyce is a whinger and i dont reckon he could hack the pressure of being in the public eye

curbishley is ok but again i think he will just be a yes man

maclaren is england manager at the mo if you look at whos shouting the orders from the touchline at england games, plus u just have to look where middlesboro are, he's shit imo

i dont agree that the manager should be english, he should just be the best man for the job and personally i dont think theres a good enough englishman to take the job at this time.

mourihno would be a perfect england manager as he prob gets more press attention than sven and its never about his private life, always about football, with pearce as his assistant and then in 5 years time the nation would have their perfect ENGLISH manager :top:

i thank u

and england team should be

robinson

neville woodgate terry cole

beckham lampard carrick j cole

rooney
owen

DanRSturbo 25-01-2006 10:03 AM

Now that would be a good combo :top: :top:

smithy20vt 25-01-2006 10:56 AM

Very good combo

Never gonna happen

CabbyRS 25-01-2006 11:28 AM

pearce hasnt a chance not enough experience yet

do not have him in any team, he's fucking shite :wall: plus you have no Gerrard in there?? Carrick isn't good enough IMO and Joe Cole is frustrating but we don't have much else down the left, maybe Keiran Richardson could do a job?

RSCossieGaz 25-01-2006 12:19 PM

give it to pearcey! he has the passion maybe get someone to be a right hand man or something

smithy20vt 25-01-2006 12:38 PM

Stuart Downing for left wing when hes not injured :top:
