Ryan you spaz, given that there are THREE T34s and at least FOUR T38s, a little more specific would help :p ;) :007:.

Ryan 21-12-2005 08:38 AM

mike, what conclusions would you draw comparing the 2 figures.

the t34, give a much harder low down punch, but past 4.5, struggle to produce the torque?

the TT38, comes in slightly later, with what seems a slightly less aggerssive surge, but quickly makes power and holds it to the limiter?

Stu @ M Developments 21-12-2005 08:39 AM

So many different questions......

Ryan 21-12-2005 08:42 AM

very true stu,

but atleast mine are car based and instigate a discussion of sorts,

rather than the usual pointless topics that fill the general discussion.

my toilet fell down the loo
what on TV tonight.
my girlfirend dumped me
my gf a crack hoare

Mike Rainbird 21-12-2005 08:43 AM

My conclusion is that the version that Bill has is the BEST compromise between power and cost currently available.

I personally believe that the other T38s on the market are too similar to a T4 in lag to be worthwhile (in fact my own engine with a T4 makes more power lower down AND higher up than YUMs...).

kjc300 21-12-2005 08:46 AM

Ryan, wasn't that graph done in 3rd gear?? (Dave's)

I sound all technical here, but actually I think it was the thread with someone slagging the negative lambda

Then Mark came on and explained!!?

Ryan 21-12-2005 08:48 AM

yeah it was Kev.

dont think dave has a 4th gear run graph.

would think affect things greatly?

Ryan, you forgot to list this topic:
"my car is trapped by scafolding all around it, should I break it now and sell for spares?"

doug you cooooooooooont.

scaffolding is all gone as the house is almost done, thanks fook :?

so i can now press on with the car.

pick the engine up today, and jsut need to get a turbo.

i've been offered a new turbo technics t38, and a very good price, hence why im asking the question.

kev, you and me both

Mike Rainbird 21-12-2005 09:01 AM

Yum's is done on Simon Norris's Superflow ENGINE dyno, so gearing doesn't come into it :007: :p  ;).

kjc300 21-12-2005 09:07 AM

:007: I hope that's not for me Mike!!!? OR if it is you can have a real one!!! ;) lol

What is the spec of the engine?

Has the head been flowed & ported?
Standard valves?
Comp ratio?
Cams?

Better to choose a turbo that matches your engine spec......than one that is cheap I would have thought :?

So what company does the best T38 ? How do you spec a turbo ?

My engine spec will be :
200 block
Ported head
BD14 inlet cam
Standard exhaust cam
7.6.1 comp
Greys.

Steve.

Ryan 21-12-2005 10:32 AM

harvey, but you wont get one unelss you have a dyno session so in essence its a £1700 turbo.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm cheap

Mike Rainbird 21-12-2005 10:50 AM
