Default Computer Peeps.....avi compressing

I have a video file thats been ripped to .avi it's too big for me to burn onto one DVDR, is there anyway I can compress it at all?

That may help with the changing! I haven't actually done it but the guides on there have always been spot on for what I have needed to do?

Are you putting the Avi on a disc to watch as a DVD or to say take to another PC and watch it as an Avi?

i use a program called dr. div x

no having to prat around it does everything for you and converts them to recognised authorised divx formats
