i have just fitted my new turbo to my car (92 saph cosworth 4x4) ,no more smoke belting out thankfully , now the sensor which screws in the top of the turbo which i think is the lamda sensor ? all the wires are uncovered and nearly touching each other so i have disconnected it and just using it to plug the the hole , the question is what does it do and will it be harmful to run the car with it disconnected ? thanks again for your help.

 

whats the spec of your car? as if it has a pectel board in it the lambda sensor is doing nothing

 

it has a stage 1 chip but no board ,

 

i think it depends on wrote the chip program, some remain lambda control!

what it does in monitor the oxygen content and adjust to suit! but it can only do this for light loads! its worth fitting back in if the chip supports lambda control

 

its a sue collins chip ,any good ?
