Stopped today by unmarked 5 series, clocked at 99 but where doing 120 to keep up at some points...
Let of with a warning and sent on my way with some words of wisdom....
"you don't have to do 70 but don't do 100"
Fair play to Those two coppers 👍

Wow you must've got them in a really good mood. I remember years ago I was on my way to work at 05.30 and there was no one around. Was driving along a long straight piece of road which happened to have a school along it. I had an unmarked car come up behind me and pull me over. I think I was doing about 37mph and thought due to the time of day and there was absolutely no one around, I'd just get a slap on the wrist and be on my way. Nope - got booked and had to go to rehab! Couldn't believe it.
If it was during the day or at school time then yep throw the book at me, but 05.30 in the morning when everywhere was deserted, come on! As the road was long open and straight I thought if was gonna be speeding along it I'd be doing a fair bit more than 37mph.
I recon it was cos I was driving a hot hatch (civic type r) and they were probably on the way back to the station after a night shift and thought fuck it we'll have this guy!

You were a boy racer in a boy racer car....might as well paint a big target on you
I was on the motorway, long straight, sunny warm bright day.... Plus I'm Older....

That’s great. I got 3 points in February for the first time since I was a teenager. I pulled out to overtake an HGV and as I did spotted the camera van by the time I pulled in I was at 60 and honestly believed it would be ok but got clocked at 80. I’ve measured the distance and the van was 0.75 of a mile away. I was pretty gutted at it was a straight road with no traffic but rules are rules. Take care out there.

The funny thing is, I was at the start of a nice easy drive to work. Then when plod went on a power trip I was then rather behind schedule, so as soon as he was gone and I was out of town, the pedal hit the metal so I wasn't late for work

A lot of times it depends on your attitude.... If you try the big hard man act your not getting away with anything.
I told them I'm not wanting to incriminate myself but I agreed I was going to fast because I was arsing around....a quick check of licence and I was on my way within a few minutes

Totally agree, no point in being a knob as its only gonna make things worse. However having said that - if you see all the idiots on programmes like 'Police interceptors' getting caught red handed and giving the police all kinds of abuse, you'd think they'd all get banged up. But no, at the end of the programme when they tell you who got done for what, most of the time they get off due to lack of evidence or some shit! Even though the coppers have caught them on camera with a nicked car or a load of drugs.
The police must wonder what they've got to do to bring people to justice sometimes if the courts just let them off all the time. That would absolutely do my head in if I was a copper as I'd just think I'm wasting my time and putting myself at risk for nothing.
Watching those types of programmes and seeing what people get away with astounds me.

I've never understood that either, in my miss spent youth I never got away with anything.... 4 year bans for driving whilr disqaul.... Nowadays its a slap on the wrist.
I remember trying to fight a speeding ticket on a technicality , copper wrote 47 in a 50 in the ticket but it should have been 47 in a 30....still didn't get away with it....

Very unusual that you got clocked at that speed and didn’t get a Nick for it, usually in these sorts of instances it means they haven’t got the evidence to actually nick you. I’ve had it a couple of times in the early hours of the morning flying to jobs that I’ve had and they have been on me but never had the actual evidence to give me a ticket and I didn’t admit to anything.
I also watch the programmes mentioned above, police interceptors, fast justice etc and find it strange how some of the people who you would think are bang to rights get fuck all in the way of criminal charge or punishment. However in a court of law it has to be proved beyond all reasonable doubt that someone is actually guilty of something, if there is a slight doubt the CPS will choose not to pursue a case. As a youngster I was always on the duck from the old bill, sometimes I got collared, a lot of times I got away with things, didn’t get caught and or walked out of court through lack of evidence etc, now I’m getting on a bit I do respect what they do and I don’t envy their job at all, like the old saying goes they are a necessary evil, we would fucked without them I have to say.

I would imagine 2 traffic coppers in a car can corroborate that they were doing 120 to maintain the distance between us even if they didn't really have me clocked at 99 though....
For me the trick is to be reasonable with a dollop of humble pie on top, and agree with them without admitting anything specific as I've been told many times about coppers attitude test when stopping someone will often determine how it plays out.
No one wants caught out but your right, they've got a job to do and without them it would be carnage out there

I had the one and only Dresda Triton cafe racer on the Island at the time, it had some nice engine mods and it was a quick bike which drew a lot of attention. One day I was on my way back to Ryde where I lived and when I was coming through a small place called Wooton which was a 30mph limit I got stuck behind a Police car ( old Austin Westminster capable of about 100mph flat out! ) It had 2 Police officers in it and they kept looking back at me and I was thinking maybe I had done something wrong.I just kept behind them and when we came out of the 30mph limit they suddenly floored it but no lights or siren and the passenger kept looking back at me, I sped up and had a crazy thought that maybe they wanted to race me!!! I thought "fuck it" and went past them flat out laid right across the tank! No lights or siren but we were fast coming into a 30mph limit again. I sat up braked hard and dropped down to 30 and then shit myself realising what I had just done!!! Sure enough a couple of minutes later on came their lights and siren and I pulled in expecting the worst. They both got out of their car and walked up to me and they were laughing and smiling and one of them said "we have seen your Triton a few times and we are both bikers ourselves and we were hoping you would get the hint that we wanted to see how well it went!!!!! I could not believe my luck and spent the next 15 minutes with them looking at my bike and asking me all about it. How times have changed!!! Can you imagine that happening these days!! It was the most outstanding thing that ever happened to me and when I told my biker mates they were astounded that I had'nt got banned or worse. True story which I hope you enjoy.
