Fitting a black top Zetec / Mk1 Focus RS engine into a mk5 fiesta Zetec S?
I have a mk5 Zetec S fiesta with a Puma engine. I want to spend a few grand and make it around 250 - 300bhp. I would like to build a forged blacktop Zetec with just a FRS inlet and exhaust manifold, rebuilt and updated gt28 with a front mount, stand alone management ect. how hard is the conversion to do? I’ve had a few Zetec’s in Mk4 escort, mk2 fiesta’s ect- but this looks a bit of a different setup- mainly the engine and box mounts? No cradle ect? Also what is the easiest gearbox route? Would appreciate any advise! Cheers |
I've just done it to a friends.
Blacktop turbo and mtx box. I made the engine mounts, modified the fiesta rear torque arm, crazycage had modified the shafts. This is something I'm thinking of also, I've got a mk5 zetec s but not done anything with it yet. Over on zsoc they swear the puma engine is the way to go but i keep hearing from people like yourself saying its not enough.
I think i would be happy with a st170 lump tbh, there so cheap atm. |
