Default Securing my Sub down!

Hi Guys,

How have you lot got subs secured down in your RS'?

Mine is a vibe active 10" and it always flies about! I tried velcro but that just pulls the carpet across the boot with it

Anybody got any ideas?

Get a MDF floor made to go under your carpet in the shape of your boot and screw it onto that.

I have velcro on my carpet and sub base and that keeps it still. You could try slowing down around corners

Put some metal brackets on the back and use the seat belt points just below the seat to secure it if you don't want to bolt through the floor.

I must stress i work in car audio and numerous people each year are kill by their sub boxes. Bolt them down people as velcro does squat in an accident.

I think I am gonna make a false floor, cover it and then just bolt it down to this

How much do you think a bit of MDF and that carpet stuff to cover it is gonna set me back

I only have some shite speakers that were in there and my Vibe sub! Sounds ok...not into ICE much as long as I can blast out McFly loud through town to get me some nice young ladies it is ok

Looks like I will be getting down to B&Q tommorow then to get wood!

Will have to find a random girl who works there and ask questions about "My wood needs... "

Use the carpet as a template only the wood version may need to be slightly larger for a snug fit. I had 17's so didn't need to get to my spare wheel as it was useless. If you ditch your spare don't forget to pick a can of tyre weld up while your out

All I have at the mo in mine is my Kendwood Mask KRC-PS1040 running a set of 6.5" JBL mids in the kick wells and a set of Kenwood tweeters on the doors. Bit of a come down from the 3 amp system that was in there

If you use the boot carpet as a template i don't think the mdf will fit in the boot I'm sure this is what i did AGES ago on my S1,then had to chop the mdf in half to get it in the boot!
