grinded the floorpan down to bare metal - how many layers of 2 pack primer do i need?
as title, its at bare metal stage now in some parts, how many layers of epoxy 2 pack primer do i need to use?
also how many layers of stonechip after that? kind regards :top: |
You need to put a layer(dusting) of acid etch primer on bare metal.
Then 2 coats of primer, and another 2 coats of stone chip. See how it covers, might need 3 of stone chip. |
2 coats of epoxy primer then a 3m sealer then top coat. or epoxy, gravitex, top coat.
no need for a acid etch when using epoxy primers they are top notch. Regards Paul |
Remember overpaintable stone chip like gravitex requires a top coat to seal. Gravitex can be used on sills and flatted back to give a factory finish.
If cost isn't a problem I'd use the 3m bag sealer which to do a sierra size car will be about £300 |
