grinded the floorpan down to bare metal - how many layers of 2 pack primer do i need?

Question grinded the floorpan down to bare metal - how many layers of 2 pack primer do i need?

as title, its at bare metal stage now in some parts, how many layers of epoxy 2 pack primer do i need to use?

also how many layers of stonechip after that?

You need to put a layer(dusting) of acid etch primer on bare metal.
Then 2 coats of primer,and another 2 coats of stone chip.
See how it covers,might need 3 of stone chip.

2 coats of epoxy primer then a 3m sealer then top coat. or epoxy, gravitex, top coat.

no need for a acid etch when using epoxy primers they are top notch.

Remember overpaintable stone chip like gravitex requires a top coat to seal. Gravitex can be used on sills and flatted back to give a factory finish.

If cost isn't a problem I'd use the 3m bag sealer which to do a sierra size car will be about £300

ive got gravitex and 3m scutz! the 3m is not overpaintable!

3m bag sealer is the nuts.My escort took 15 bags at £14 a bag.
Then painted over with Hammerite smooth grey.
