Bet it's in air ride.

rhinopower 17-07-2013 05:26 PM

Bloke on ukpassats. Yeah it's on airbags :)

rog 17-07-2013 05:26 PM

I shall refrain from making any comments that could be interpreted as racist, but I have a fair idea what the driver probably looks like....

Not fancy that look for your Bentley Tony, you probably won't need alot of effort, your wallet probably makes most of your cars that low!

Ebonycossie4x4 17-07-2013 05:27 PM

just dont get it at all.

rhinopower 17-07-2013 05:34 PM

Everyone is into different stuff, they think we're a bunch of cunts driving rusty fords. Lol

why would you want to make your car look like an abandoned citroen xantia

Glenn_ 17-07-2013 07:18 PM

The thing with the vw boys they will have for eg a mk1 golf gti has a weekend toy but also have a vw as a daily unlike most of the ford boys.

Turbosystems 17-07-2013 07:30 PM

I've got a Bentley Turbo as a daily and a golf td I don't use at all as I think it's shite:cry::cry::cry:

jamie's 17-07-2013 07:53 PM

bugjam is on at the pod this weekend so all the vw boys will be around there this weekend, they're expecting 35,000 attendance, got to admit theres plenty of them

What happened to the Prius?

James @ M Developments. 17-07-2013 08:56 PM

It wasn't economical enough so he swapped it in for a Bentley to get some decent mpg:cry::shocked:

justin st13 17-07-2013 09:13 PM

Air ride aroun 1200-2500 I was gonna get it for my astra but couldn't justify spending all that money on a 1.4 :/
Instead my st owes me 3 maybe 4 grand ( including the sale of it)

Mondi-DZK 17-07-2013 09:26 PM

It's a silly VAG thing, the new generation thinks it is cool. It's all about who has the lowest car on the most expensive wheels. And before i forget you have to stretch the tires extreme.

Or maybe i'm just getting old

your right I was on the VAG scene for a few yrs (had a mk2 golf and mk2 ibiza) and refrained from the stupidly low undrivable daily car, as u said that will be his daily and he will hav a mk1 or mk2 golf in the garage ready to be trailored to the next show and shine show. ypur only considered cool if your car is static low (coilovers wound down) or on air ride with over sized other brand wheels or BBS wheels and massive stretch

Cossie Sean 18-07-2013 08:53 PM

really?
all my VAGS havent been like that.......

bizarre, i must be missing a trick with my engine conversions etc

oh well :)

roose1983 18-07-2013 09:02 PM

This is the norm round here for at least 98% of V₩'s ha ha now the posh ones are doing the same to beemers

Zetecfiesta 19-07-2013 09:05 AM

I like it, going to a vag show this weekend.

Rowe 19-07-2013 09:10 AM

needs more lows

DanW@FastFord 19-07-2013 09:36 AM

I think it looks cool. I wouldn't do it to a car, but appreciate the work that goes into getting a car to sit like that.

I'm always surprised when people who are into car tuning/modifying see fit to slag off other car 'scenes' because they don't get it.

Carlos-Titx 19-07-2013 09:41 AM

Each to their own.

I think it looks good. Not something I'd pay for but I do appreciate most of the VW cars like this.

Karl 3dr 19-07-2013 09:45 AM

I like the vw scene more than the ford scene tbh, the shows seem much more relaxed and it's not just about who's got the biggest turbo etc.

I must admit that I don't really get the air ride thing cos as soon as you lift it up to drive it it looks shite but they do look cool sat still.

The passat isn't for me - the bags wouldn't last in the sticks, and I think it looks a bit daft.

But what do your comment/thoughts say to you about a vw as a daily and toy Glenn?

The only vw I have is a standard (ish) mk4 anniversary tdi with 176k on the clock and on the original engine - on my 13 mile commute home last night I averaged 65.9mpg. Brim to brim normally shows an error or 5 - 10% on the computer mpg, but still... She uses no oil and has no rot. The gear box feels as tight as the virgin mary and she pulls like a train.

So they make great daily's, and in some cases, even better toys IMHO.

Tom

Thats because they are either all off thier heads on weed or the emo lot are either bumming each other or hiding in the bushes self harming because somebodys rat look car has more rust than thiers.

Really? What shows have you been to then Warren cos that's not what I've experienced from vw shows

zetec-Sam 19-07-2013 12:18 PM

Everyone knows bags are for fags! I'd be impressed if it was static...

I have to agree i wouldn't go near a vwaudi ect just because of the scene BUT they are always looking at different things to do not to let things go stale

Yeh there more into there detail and unique touches but to be fair you cant have a fast road car with 10 degrees of camber :cry::cry:

TOOTALL 19-07-2013 01:45 PM

Then there is the hanging flowers off the interior mirror. What the feck is that about? Fair enough, it's their own car to do as they wish, but some of these things are huge.

Cossie.jack 19-07-2013 02:03 PM

I like it but wouldn't have it done my self.

Haha, no I agree Jay, I prefer the older stuff tbh, beetles, campers etc, they're generally not that focused on going fast anyway lol. If I sell the cossie one day I'd like a nice split screen camper

so how do you get away with it ??:cry::cry::cry::cry:

not saying your fat ...........:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Chopshop85 19-07-2013 04:05 PM

I quite like it, have a lot of friends that are into that whole scene and they have some very nice cars.

The ones I can't understand are the people who think "bags are for fags" and are obsessed with being "static" and lower than the car in the picture.
Then I see daily on the facebook news feed "cracked my sump :(" "Chassis rails are splitting" "daily tyre inflation" etc.. Having to plan routes because streets with speed bumps are a no go, using sections of wood to get on and off your driveway every day, having to drive at 10mph on B roads just in case...

I could not be bothered with it.

gjh 19-07-2013 04:32 PM

Not my cup of tea personally, but that's what I like about the tuning scene, there are loads of different looks and styles, each to their own. But there are way to many loud mouth "haters" these days.

what is that even supposed to mean? that somebody can't express their opinion if it's disliking something?
