Sony PSP !
So what's the release date over there in the UK ? Or do they already sell the import versions?
Any one gonna buy one of these?... http://image.com.com/gamespot/images..._screen001.jpg I know I will...  |
Dunno when uk release day is, but I will get 1 eventually.
There is a few places you can get 1 from and it don't make any odds as there multiregion and as far as I know all games from all country's will work on it. USA gotta be cheapest place to get 1 for sure. |
Yeah... It's multiregion... Only the movies are region 1 for USA and Region 2 for other country's ...
|
Im edgind towrds a nintend DS, main reason being my mate imported a PSP, he was stood up and he dropped it onto a carpet floor and it just burst into bits :?
|
Don't you think that it will also happen to a DS ? They arn't build to drop on the floor you know
Ain't he got any kind of warrnty? Even with the import version, I would go back to the place where he bought it.. |
but lets be honest, surely a 3 or 4 foot drop onto carpet should be ok for it to live instead of it exploding like a grenade
|
Nintendo ds is $149 (£77) on amazon.com $249 (£129) for the psp on circuit city. Games for the psp are $39and $49. I think the psp is worth about £75-£100 cause its really a novelty thing.

i have a psp
the graphics are awesome looks liek a ps2 the analogue stick is a great touch it has built in wifi for multiplayer and the next software upgrade is meant to include a web browser so u can use it to surf the net. it is a media player too so will be able to watch filsm on it etc top bit of kit but defo dont drop it     |
Craig you flash git.... ;)
I still got a GameBoy..  |
I doubt very much you'll get just the machine for $249.99. As everyone over here at the moment are going to be selling it as a pack where you get the $249.99 value pack but have to purchase x number of games and as the games cost $40-$50 your looking at around $400-$500 at the moment :(.
You'll have to wait a few months before the machine only deals start to appear. |

Just took delivery of a Nintendo DS and first impression are not good! :( PSP battery life - I get about 6 hours while playing RR. :top: Release date looks like June now for the Pal version. Coolest gaming console on the market if you ask me. Can't wait for GT4 Mobile  EURO versions are RUMOURED to not be region free for games.... only time will tell. Not that it bothers me! :top: |

are the batterys rechargable ? i mean with the gameboy advance sp you get like a mobile phone charger with it do you get that with a psp ?
|
Pardon my ignorance!!!
But where do you put the fooking games?????? :? :? :? Do you plug it in to your PS2,and upload the games onto it, or do you have to buy all your games again???? Pete....  |
you have to buy them again matey ;) i reckon
|
there on a small disk so no copys or chipped versions
;) YET ;) |
If you get a Jap import, the Jap ones are region 2 - same as the UK.
Whilst the games are "supposed" to be region free, the movies that come on the small UMD discs are not. Why you would want to buy a movie on UMD is beyond me though.... Alternatively, you can rip a dvd to a 1 gig memory stick and watch it on the PSP that way thus not ever buying a movie UMD. There was talk over on the PSP forum that Gran Turismo 4 on PSP *would* be region locked. We'll know more at the end of the month! (on the US release date)... |
pete you have to buy games for it
they are on mini disk style media (UMD) they go in the back behind the screen |
Sony have used the new high density "Blue Ray" based technology for the UMD's...... so don't expect any butchering this side of the next millenium!
|
Won't be that long untill they work out how to dump a UMD onto a hard drive and upload it to boot from them memory sticks :D
I bet you won't even need to chip them  Still fookin waiting for mine to arrive, I know it's inthe country atleast, but no idea where :wall: |
heard a report in work last night that the uk order has been put back
to middle of 2006 and they recon the jap ones on ebay gonna go sky high in price ?? one question ??? if i order a jap one are the game menus in jap or chinese as you get with some copy ps2 games ????? |
the psp language will be in english if u set it to english, most jap games will show some english and some jap text, but the jap psp will play usa games in english.
|
so if i buy from a jap site it will be uk user compatible and you can get the games over the net :content: happy days QUESTION
ALL THE PEOPLE who bought the psps on this link where from please ;) a secure site would nice "like there is one lol" :D did you buy via visa |
