is it possible to put a turbo onto a standard injected pinto engine?
or do you have to lower the compression?

 

anythings possible but would you want to?

 

i already have the engine built and all the components for it the only query i have is should i put in cosworth pistons and conrods? this will lower my compression

 

think its been done a few times maybe look on turbosport.see if it has been done on there or someone will probaly know someone that has

Been done plenty of times, Turbo technics even done a conversion, before the EFI varient of the Pinto! You would need different management, as the standard ECU will be very basic and won't be able to manage or have any conception of boost!

The Cosworth interals are stronger but it may effect other things if it will change the C/R.

i did mate ,it on a 1600 though run it on megasquirt mad 107 bhp at 5-6 psi i had it running at 12psi for a year but broke the box so i,ve put a cossy box in there [which don't fit
the starter and clutch ,change fly wheel which don't fit as the crank on a cossy has 9 bolts
so got a cosy bottom end going in there now]

but yer can be done mate and goes good

 

you run it as is on low boost, ecu change will be better as you can map it properly.

if you want more boost then you would need to lower the CR
