German plates
Over this past week ive seen a couple of cars (BMW and a Golf) with German plates on them, at first i thought they were real until i had a second look and they turned out to be British reg numbers, i thought these look really cool and probably the best subtle mod ive seen on a car for years, have any of you guys seen them?
|
they have been about for ages... lol... i really like them on the right motor..
|
Totally illegal, what sort of muppet would fit them to their car?
Oh.. hang on. me  |
I have a set on my BMW, think they look good.
|
and me .......opps
|
Saw then on a Mondeo @FITP. Looks like they were intended to be used on a VW because the plates had fake district stickers of Wolfsburg (where VW headqarters and some production plants are) on them. AND there were emission test and vehicle safety test stickers that have already expired.
So WHEN you intend to use german style pressed plates, get some with "GB" on them and without the stickers! P.S.: Don't try to go to Germany with them on your car. Might cause big trouble. |
I had them on my M3 a few years ago...

Yep they do look cool on german cars:top:
|
|

Seriously, as XR2 said: if you plan on going to the ring or something... Don't do it, especially not with the TÜV and "Stadt" seals. You're bound to get done biiiig time... |
i think they look sad as fuck. people who do that must have more money than sense, but then that's obvious if they have a german car
|
Dubmeister supply uk legal pressed metal plates, obviously uk font and spacing with gb, but they look lovely though

Never been keen on the idea of seeing all these french/german pressed plates on cars over here. Asking to be pulled and in all fairness and i think it looks utterly crap :007:
just my opinion :DD: |

Fiesta = built and engineered in Cologne/Germany Focus/C-Max/Kuga = engineered in Cologne, built in Saarlouis / Germany etc... But yeah, I guess a Polo is still superior German quality... MY ARSE!:cry::cry: |

When I first got my M3, I had steel plates pressed with the region stamps etc... thought it looked good... for a few weeks!
They soon came off! Std plates back on! |
Just that you know, those stamps are certificate of MOT and certificate of registration/tax...
Imagine if I'd go ahead and photocopy a tax disc and put it on my german registered car... I'm sure the british plod wouldn't be too happy if they caught me... |
i think they look shit

Why not, if you're German! These are in the same idiotic league as incorrectly spaced plates.

I had them on my old Fiesta. Loved em.
